I totaly forgot the salarians... And while Asari may have less muscle strenght they back it up with biotics and smarts. Okay, new list of pugilistic skills of the average galactic inhabitant then:

1. Krogans.
2. Rachni.
3. Turians.
4. Geth.
5. Asari.
6. Humans and batarians.
7. Vorcha.
8. Quarians.
9. Salarians.
10. Hanar.
11. Volus.
12. Conrad Verner.

Of course I have little PROOF to back this up so it's just guesses from what muscle strenght, agressiveness, biotics, smarts, natural defences, speed, reach and flexibility the spiecies have in game to my always unobjective eye.

After playing mass effect 2 again , I now think that Turians and Humans are about even in strength , but Turians usually have better training and talons. I never thought turian skin would be a problem . In the codex it says that Turian skin does not protect it in combat.

I don't believe that refers to standard hand to hand combat though.

"The turian homeworld, Palaven, has a metal-poor core, generating a weak magnetic field and allowing more solar radiation into the atmosphere. To deal with this, most forms of life on Palaven evolved some form of metallic "exoskeleton" to protect themselves. Their reflective plate-like skin makes turians less susceptible to long-term, low-level radiation exposure, but they do not possess any sort of "natural armor". A turian's thick skin does not stop projectiles and directed energy bolts."

IMO the average turian is stronger than the average human, Shepard is simply not the average human.

Batarians are also a stab in the dark , they could be stronger or weaker than both Turians and Humans.

If you only go on what Grunt says, the order (strongest to weakest) would probably look something like this:

Krogan - Turian - Quarian - Human - Asari - Salarian

Of course, Quarians are at a disadvantage due to their immune system, but if you're looking specifically at physical prowess, then I, at least, can imagine that Quarians would be pretty tough (though, to be honest, we've barely seen any in action, and Freedom's Progress/Haestrom weren't exactly... overwhelming.)

Batarians are described as being harder (firmer) than humans (Revelation), but that doesn't necessarily mean tougher or stronger. Still, I'd wager they are closer to humans (similar built), thus being weaker than Turians - that is, if you also accept that Humans are physically weaker than Turians.

I just can't see Quarians being stronger than Humans , maybe firmer as in tougher skin , like Turians , Quarians look more , agile and quick , like Salarians. Also seeing Turians out of their armour , maybe Turians are faster than Humans , and have better acceleration(faster punches, kicks and dodging) and thats why Turians are considered physically supieror to Humans.

Quarians are also crippled a lot by their constant risk of infection. As KalReegar said: Fighting from orbit is preferable due to the risks of suit puncture in closer combat.

They seem to be pretty much identical to humans in everything except their head, so I'd say the two are evenly matched.

(Unless they have four nipples... or something.)

It states that humans are roughly on par with turians in physical strength. The talons and military training can be an advantage, though. Note that humanity got the Turian's full attention in the first contact war, so they are a force to be reckoned with.
