Yup, you know what i'm thinking. A Fighter, The Keep a few times until Strength, Dexterity, Constipation are 25, import to Baldur's Gate 1, profit.

Yes, but you will need to apply one of the engine conversion mods to your BG1 installation (i.e., BGT or Tutu). You cannot reverse-import a BG2 character to vanilla BG1.jonnyblueballs wrote...
Is it possible to import a character from Baldur's Gate 2 to Baldur's Gate 1 without losing main attributes (Strength, Dexterity, Constipation, Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma)?
Yes.Is it possible to import from Throne of Bhaal to Throne of Bhaal?
Yes, as long as you import to a SoA+ToB install. Is it possible to import from Throne of Bhaal to Baldur's Gate 2?
Yes, see first answer. (But the basis of your BGT/Tutu install must also be SoA+ToB.)Is it possible to import from Throne of Bhaal to Baldur's Gate 1?

It does change the dynamic and the overall feel, somewhat. For example, you'll be able to access the new kits, spells, TAB-highlighting, and so on. And, of course, you'll inherit BG2's interface.jonnyblueballs wrote...
Hmmm, engine conversion sounds like cheating... i'm not sure how i feel about this.
But, yeah... that's the only way to reverse-import a SoA/ToB character, to my knowledge.

But yes, you can continually re-import characters into a new game of BG2. I had a Throne character (saved right before the last fight with Melissan) that I imported into a Tactic games with the Improved Illych mod running...and curbstomped it, since the Duergar and Shadow Thieves all use non-magical weapons, and my character had been through the hell trials.

I created one in Throne of Bhaal and imported him.
He was so uber powerful that it was no fun at all.
Yes, you can kill everyone including Elminster with no problems, but there is no challenge.
The reason that there are so many difficulty enhancing mods, is that in general, players want the game harder.
If you are finding the game a bit too hard, you can change the difficulty setting.
You can also run BG1 for a bit and import that character in again.
That would not make it ridiculously easy.
Doing that, you can use the stat enhancing tomes again and again.
You can also use Shadowkeeper or Gatekeeper to modify your character.
Shadowkeeper if you have Tutu or BGT installed, Gatekeeper for the unmodified game.
With them you can change your stats, Strength, Dexterity and suchlike and you can also change your experience to make yourself a higher/or lower level.
I personally find that the game difficulty is fine, but a bit on the easy side. However I didn't when I first played it.
If you are finding the game a bit too hard, I would personally recommend the option above in bold.

That's a needlessly complex way of doing things.jonnyblueballs wrote...

Options:
1. Just play Baldur's Gate 1 repeatedly until your stats hit the cap. It's much shorter.
2. Just play Baldur's Gate 1 and export your character whenever he finds a tome. Import the exported character 6 times into a Multiplayer game, collect the tomes, export (because otherwise it's going to take forever with singulary increases in your dump stats), finally create your super warrior - also in multiplayer of course. Export. Import into BG1.
3. Go the smart way. Gatekeeper / Shadowkeeper.
Edit: Back in '00, when I didn't even know about option 3, I went with option 2 of course. Then I never once played that character.

I just realised now you wrote Constipation.jonnyblueballs wrote...

I don't really see the appeal, either. Then again, different strokes and all that jazz.Humanoid_Taifun wrote...

Baldur's Gate 1 is shorter than The Keep? Yeah, i might go with this. I want my Paladin to be god level but i don't want to technically cheat. And yeah i think i'd like to kill everyone, including Elminster and that stupid guy by the graveyard in Nashkel. I guess i should start with collecting Constipation because it builds the most character.Humanoid_Taifun wrote...
