It was only a running joke for how long?  I'm a fan of Jacob's. The romance is a lot longer than the other two in ME2, and  it feels... idk, more hands on. There's hand holding, a kiss on the cheek, and even a brief makeout sesh after the SM. There's just more to it,  if you ignore.. well, some of the lines. He's cute otherwise. And tells Shepard that he loves her before hitting the Omega 4 Relay if you choose the right dialogue options. :3

The fact that he was stumbling all over himself was the biggest selling point for me, actually.  It's a side of him you didn't expect, was absolutely adorable, and reminded me of my actual boyfriend, who is even more herp-derpy when it comes to being romantic.

The facial scars thing came across as more of a joke to me, like he was trying to show off how awesome he was by turning a disaster into sexiness.  Kind of like how my friends and I will joke, "I'm hot, you want me, and you know it," when we're goofing around, even though we aren't attracted to each other at all.

Maybe that's why people latch on to specific romances: they remind them of people they know, only badass.

2. Ashley Williams (although I never romanced her, she was a strong woman I have to say, although a bit racist.)

3. Liara ("OMG I TOTALLY LOVE YOU AFTER ONE DAY!" Living proof that all Bis are easy.)

4. Samara/Morinth (Not romances, they're one conversation geez)

5. Miranda Lawson (She's a trap by cerberus to get you to trust them, hence the perfect body. I stand by my crazy conspiracy)

6. Jack (No)

7. Kelly Chambers (Definately not a romance she's a fling, and she's creepy at that)

For the Ladies

1. Garrus Vakarian (For the exact same reasons as Tali)

2. Thane Krios (So romantic, and has such a moving romance. Along with being classy)

3. Kaidan Alenko (Dull, boring, dull and boring)

4. Liara T'Soni(see above)

5. Jacob Taylor(Priiiiiize. 'Nuff said.)

She is my favorite by such a distance that I can never romance anyone else as a maleShep in ME2. It is like she was made to be a character I would like. She's the reason I play maleSheps at all, and the reason I'm still here.

@Cheez - I do love Garrus and his awkward adorableness. I think it's really charming and sweet. It just felt out of place, is all. He's so confident otherwise. This is the main reason why I refuse to romance Tali, despite liking her character. It feels like they're nervous or doing it because you're Shepard, not because they just like you so damn much. I only wish we'd gotten more confident Garrus, is all. Like Shepards who don't romance him get before they're stonewalled by calibrations.

I can't believe you'd choose Garrus over Kaidan! For shaaaame!

As for me, for my maleshep: Ashley and Miranda. For Femshep: Kaidan.

@Calla: Really? Garrus's awkwardness made sense to me since he probably never saw Shepard as anything more than a mentor and a friend, so didn't see the "let's shag" thing coming, and honestly did not know how to bone human females without dying horribly. I got the impression that he knew you expected him to remain confident, and he tried really hard to do so, but his "omg wtf how does it work" tripped him up and he made himself look like an ass. Maybe I'm reading too deeply into it, and if I am, I blame Brandon Keener for doing such a good job on his lines.



And you know what? F*ck calibrations. Bioware, fix that sh*t in ME3.

I have another female Shepard who is torn between Liara and Samara.

From youtube vids I can say Jack and Tali would be third.

The worst part is that the game possibly won't remember the attempted romance. Since it wasn't mentioned in LOTSB, so don't get your hopes up for it to be carried over in ME3.
