It has already been confirmed that we can't change our companions outfits visually but when it comes to the stats (a.k.a. the imortant part) it's much ore vague. It has been confirmed the armor gets upgraded after timeskips and I think it was mentioned that you can customise the stats but not in the same way you get new armors for Hawke.
So how and how much will we be able to customise? I know this isn't really that important since we still have all the other wquipment slots but it's still worth discussing.
