Ive played as a male and female Shep - always Vanguard, but never as a Soldier. Playing that class for the first time so I could get all the cool weapons that the Vanguard  class cant train for, and I discovered that MASS EFFECT 1 is still:

FUN AS HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since you also have to be a male version of Shep in ME2 to unlock some of the romance options, decided to go and create an Male Soldier class Shep -

Aside from the little framerate drops with the 360 version, I wouldnt change a thing with Mass Effect 1, except maybe more DLC!!!!

I agree, I have played ME1 7 times and each time i always have fun and always find something new that I had not seen in previous play throughs. Too bad the same can't be said for the second

I've done two complete playthroughs (first as a Soldier, second as a Vanguard), and now I'm working on a third as an Infiltrator over the Christmas break. The replay value is incredible, given the six classes and all the bonus talents you unlock from playing them. For example, my Infiltrator as Lift, complements of my previous Vanguard playthrough, and Lift + Sniper is a fun combo. I like ME2 much more than ME1, but I still find the ur-ME game extremely fun.

I loved it, but didn't see the crazy re-play value others did.

Its there....some missions only unlock if you complete certain things....if you go to Feros and do not inspect the Geth area properly, you can miss out on 2-3 side missions, for example.

Given I played as a Female Shep Vanguard and now a Male Shep Soldier, I am getting access to new armors and weapons I could never unlock previous, so its pretty cool to be using a Sniper rifle for the first time on my 4th playthrough

Normally I never do a second, let alone a third/fourth or even fifth playthrough. But with this game, I went all out!

Awww, I rather liked both of them. Great set of games, in my opinion.

I love the story in ME1, but the game certainly has issues. One is the frustrating Mako, and another is the stupid AI (both allies and enemies). Getting to know Wrex and the others is rewarding, though. The setting is rich but it isn't used fully, IMO.

I totally loved the first ME. I played it over ten times with one character, and I made seven.

Not exactly the same here; yes I'm still playing Mass Effect sometimes, but when I finish a certain playthrough throughout the 2 games, I just can't immediately start another playthrough. In other words, I have to wait until I miss Mass Effect enoughly in order to create another Shepard.

I am the same way, actually. This is the first time I have played Mass Effect 1 in at least a year and half....I was gonna just do a quick game to create a male Shep to bring to a ME2 game, but found myself having soo much fun, I am doing a complete playthrough - including side missions, gas gathering type missions (boring), and DLC, bringing down the rain, Pennacle station, etc!

Not yet done with the game, and have a level 49 Soldier on my first game - will probably end up being a level 52-53 when I wrap this current game up.

Actually there are only a very few missions it's possible to not complete, those that end on the Citadel and the paragon/renegade quests. All the others can be finished as long as you haven't gone to Ilos.

That said the game was still fun on the play through # 30.

I am presently about to begin my seventh file of Mass Effect, fifth this year. To be fair, in my case replay value is determined more by my enjoyment of the game, than if the game has any. I have replayed completely linear games numerous times simply due to a fancy.

Ended up as a Level 53 Soldier on my latest game. Ended up doing about 90% side missions, but became impatient with the mineral/gas mining UNC missions - left 3 of those not done.

Playing ME2 again now, and while I love many, many of the updates, I miss the Mako and actual planetary exploration type missions. AND, I HATE it when the game ends the mission for you. I like to still look around

If/when I play Mass Effect 1 again, it'll be as a class I am (now) most interested in: the Engineer class.....very different than what I would normally do, but that's the fun. Might as well get a Level 50 or higher level character for each of the classes.

Love Vanguard. Dig the Soldier class.....and very curious about Engineer class....

I'm on my fifth character run and trying to do everything I've never done before. I had Colonist bg and finally did the 'I Remember Me' quest. So tense! Loved it! I also did a paragon speech to garrus to make him more law abiding I think. I had never heard that dialogue before. I usually encourage his vengeful spirit. XD Even on my previous paragon run.

And then this time around I finally discovered the little doors on the skyway on Feros. I had always thought the lingering red dots on my map were glitches after I had cleared out the actual road. But this time around, I payed more attention to the radio and heard something different. It really isn't a big discovery, but it was exciting to me.

I'm at the point where I have a note paper shoved inside my case that details each of my Shepard's: class, history, demeanor, build, as well as date created. Only way I can remember them all.

Hah! Ditto.  I've done 12 play throughs myself.  I even worked around the 11 end game file limit by transferring them to a stick so I could create more characters to import.

I think it's just the fact that I've fallen in love with the whole universe that Bioware has created here.  Just awesome.

It really is a great universe. It's like an amalgam of the best aspects of Star Wars, Star Trek, Aliens, etc.
