You can see these enemies in the Combat Video. My question is, are these enemies of any importance?

I somehow got the feeling that this is their symbol.

Maybe they are the first important enemies Hawke has to face?

Mike Laidlaw showed up and explained that the symbol was used by the slaves from Tevinter Magisters.
So now we can use this thread to discuss a possible rebellion as well.

Redwater Raiders sounds like a smugglers' club.

That symbol can be seen in a Varric screenshot on the wall behind him, but I don't know where to find it. Quite sinister, actually.

Perhaps we will save the local town leader's daughter from them. And maybe if we wear the right clothes, their leader will think we're his long-dead dad coming back to kill him. Or maybe not.

You mean this one? Maybe they are a threat to Varric's Brother?

LOL

What happens if you're a Hawkette? Would he mistake you for a Pearl worker he paid for?

Edit: Yes, that one. See how it's painted over the formal seal of Kirkwall? I think it could signify a rebel group of some kind. Perhaps the Redwater Raiders, even.

Edit II: Wait, Varric has a brother? *sneaks off to Varric's fan thread*

When I saw the symbol painted on top of the Kirkwall seal, I also thought that there must be SOME sort of rebelion going on in Kirkwall. And when I saw the Redwater Raiders in the video I though, maybe they are the rebel group?

And maybe after defeating them, Varric joins your party?

Yes, Bartrand.
He is the leader of the Merchant Guild in Kirkwall, that's why I thought that if the Redwater Raiders is a band of smugglers and whatnot. Then Varric and Bartrand will want them out of the way because they are competition.

I heavily doubt a group of bandits will be a big player in the game.

Like DadeLeviathan said, perphaps they have a similair role in Kirkwall. Like the Carta had in Orzimmar.

The Redwater raiders are a group of . . . raiders . . . who are causing trouble for Varric's trading company.

maybe they are currently shipping whatshisfaceelf around and you free him from the raiders, he then helps you and Varric destroy the organization.

My 2 cents.

Ah yes . . . the Fallout 3 raiders. Those fellows who seemed to exist for the sole purpose of killing and dying like animals.

Mostly the dying.

Maybe the reason Fenris attacked them was because they caught him and wanted to ship him back to Tevinter?
Or maybe we are reading to much into this,no? Posted Image

i'll say one thing though, the background on fenris screenshot (mast, water, wooden construction on the right)
is very much alike what we see in the combat walkthrough video (the scenery in the distance)

I think the symbol is a hawk for Hawke, no matter how many people call it a dragon.

If they are smugglers, then maybe they got some of their goods from overseas.

Maybe it's a Falcon? That is the symbol of Viscount Dumar, no?
But seriously whatever it I doubt it has something to do with Hawke.
I mean the way it is painted over Kirkwall's seal, looks more like someone is trying to insult or defy Kirkwalls leader(s).
