Anyway, I'd figure I go with a Mage as my first playthrough -- as I did in Orgins. At least I'll have a good reason this time around, Hawke being from a family of apostates and all. I want to see how that plays out.

Options? Before you even start the game you'll be asked to choose a gender and class (rogue, mage or warrior). So yes, we do know what options will be available. Unless you're suggesting that you plan on playing a male warrior but if females have an awesome nose option, well, female rogue it is!caradoc2000 wrote...
I never plan my characters beforehand - especially since we don't even know what character options will be available.

That's going to look real classy in all of the history books.

I'll rise to power on the backs of the common man - stealing, scheming, murder for hire if it's an option. I expect to have a nice little crime empire shortly after getting to Kirkwall . . . and a large crime empire by the end.
Basically, some little girl wants me to get her kitty out of the tree, she better have money.

To plan a character one would need to know about specializations, attribute mechanics, and gameplay mechanics in general.AClockworkMelon wrote...

Then of course you threaten to skin the cat in front of her unless her father supports you bid for power yes?TJPags wrote...
Male warrior. Sarcastic SOB. Complete "what's in it for me?" type.

I had gotten the feeling that the atributes worked the same way as before.caradoc2000 wrote...

The classes will probably be better balanced than in DA though.
*wistfully remembers the sheer level of destruction a level 20 mage could do*

So either the melee rogue or two-hander or SnS warrior.
It depends on which companions we get, what the skills are like, and so on.
Mage, of course, will be one of the first two playthroughs. Frankly, I don't see the possibility of more than two playthroughs.
