I prefer to have them all back and fleshed out, I really enjoyed splitting them up into groups in the suicide mission, and picking leaders, more of this, on a bigger scale please.

It seems like a vaste of development time and disc space to make a squadmate and then only use him/her/it for just a few missions. All it would take is to give that squadmate a few more dialouge lines and they can be used in the whole game.

If you didn't bother to save everyone from the first two games, tough luck, less potential squadmates for you. Replay it better if you want more. No retcons or "zombies" needed and you get a more marketable product due to returning fan favourites.

All my team back with even more interaction than ME2, which had more than ME1 despite people trying to tell you otherwise.

You had 3 conversations with Garrus in ME1

You get 3 in ME2 if he's not your LI and another 2 if he is.

The only difference was in ME1 you got a conversation after each plot world until the end of the dialogue tree, there were 4, so by the time you got through Garrus' chats you were ~70% done with the story. In ME2 you unlock the next tier after each mission, there are 9 recruitment missions, 12 loyalty missions, and 3 advancement missions for a total of 24 so you run out of conversations a lot faster despite everyone having equal to or more than ME1. Also there is plenty of banter in cut scenes and many people will react to the other party member's "talk to XXX" thing.

Yeah, I noticed the convo's of some -mainly those who weren't LI's - was much more limited.
