Why does everyone want the campy galaxy map in ME1 and not the awesome galaxy map in the 2006 demo?

Practicality and functionality mostly.

The ME1 2006 demo footage map looks absolutely gorgeous, but it would reqire the player to nagivate in three-dimensions unless the planet, system, etc. selection was pretty much instant automatic selection whereby the player simply flicked from planet to planet, which then itself would eliminate the possibility of finding things in between planets (such as ships, asteroids, etc.).

Well all it needs is a little tweaking...

Maybe not. :P

You're speaking about a game that runs on 3 different platforms. You have to take many limitations into consideration. I don't doubt it can be done but it probably was dropped for some reason right?

I remember having to work on some Python (a very simple programming language) code for a network project months ago. Turns out I wanted to die everytime I heard my boss speaking "Well all it needs is a little tweaking" on the phone.

The fuel mechanic really was a waste of time, all it did was make things tedious. It really served no purpose. There was no strategy to refueling. All you had to do was fill up every time you went through a relay, why add the extra step?

I'll eat my hat if somebody actually likes mining.

I liked mining.  How's the hat taste?

I think they should also show which factions are currently in control of a region e.g. Local cluster is Alliance space, Widow is Council space and they should also have space traffic, to me the galaxy seems pretty empty.

I love this idea <3
