 Sorry if this is in the wrong section I just got the game.

I want to download the 1.69 patch but the regular update will not work.  If I download the critical rebuild and run it, will my character and savegame be deleted?

Ok I have another question now....



I downloaded the rebuild and when I tried to run it I got this message:



NSIS Error





The installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete. This could be the result of a damaged disk, a failed download, or a virus.

Are you sure you DL'd the correct critical rebuild? There are several available. Also, it is possible that the DL got corrupted even if it was the correct one. If you haven't tried again, perhaps give that a go.

Ended up having to re-download the rebuild as it didn't completely download the first time. Thanks again guys for the help!

Pocha quero jogar nwn 1 mais instalo o jogo e ele nao atualiza e os petchs da bioware nao funciona da erro de versao ta foda, baixei tudo que petch que achei na net nenhum funciona ele fica na versao do platinium edition.(1.68/1.69 mesm os petchs separados por expansão)

You may need some friend to do a more accurate translation of your problem since this is primarily an English-speaking forum.  I know of no Portuguese-speaking regulars here to help you out.  On-line translations are crude at best and not very helpful when discussing technical problems.

More information is needed from you:

Are you playing the English version or a foreign-language version?  It makes a big difference.
English versions can be patched to v1.69 but foreign language versions only to v1.68.

Is it the Platinum version you are trying to patch?

I'm trying to apply the patches in the biowere platinum version and giving this error and the original game and never gave this problem and I stopped playing a few more messes and formatted pc pach since then no work. Unfortunately I do not speak English much less write, and there is no forum with the Portuguese language and need help (English game)

I can sympathize with the language barrier and you should understand that it is also difficult to translate your problem. We will try to work this out.

If I understand you, there are patches included with the Platinum version that you are having trouble installing. Is this correct?  If it is, here is my suggestion:  Use the critical rebuild patch specifically for the English Platinum version.  This should be the file you need
files.bioware.com/neverwinternights/updates/windows/english/NWNEnglish1.69HotUUpdate.exe

However, if you have already tried this file, then try a fresh install of the game.  That means remove all the current game elements and then reinstall.  Then install the expansions. After that, try to apply the critical rebuild that I linked above (the 325mB file).

It is possible that the patch(es) on the platinum disc are corrupted somehow, like if the disc contains a surface blemish. You can try inspecting it and cleaning, if that is the case.  Even brand new discs can get damaged during handling.  Is it possible your CD/DVD drive and/or cable could be defective or degraded? 

That's about all I can suggest.  Perhaps others who have had similar installation problems will check in.  Hang in there, amigo.

I need some help i have version 1.63 Platinum edition and it wasn't updating correctly so i got the Critical updater thing from the site and it says You cannot use this patch with your current install of Neverwinter Nights? Can someone help me?

There is a patch exe file on your cd/dvd set.  You have to run that first, THEN the critical rebuilt will work.

I'd just like to know where I can find a critical rebuild patch for english. I'm trying to reinstall the game with limited success thanks to the fact that the link no longer leads to the correct page.

Critical Rebuilds

For anyone who needs them - there's a more permanent link. I'm going to be uploading the Linux and Mac versions (the actual files) over the next day or two. For now the links work just fine.
