I trust BioWare not to screw this up. Hopefully, conversations will be timed during situations like the end of Garrus' loyalty mission or the Virmire choice. Remember, Alpha Protocol had no "Investigate" option during every conversation like Mass Effect, so it wouldn't make sense to have timed conversations all the time. Plus, we aren't sure if the doctors were referring to conversations or like the amount of missions you can do before earth is wiped out (i.e., like what happens after the IFF is installed). So this isn't a rumor, just really vague info.

Edit: here is a snippet from Christina Norman's always helpful twitter feed in response to someone asking about this vid:

"what ray actually said is there would be improvements to the sense of visceral excitement in conversations"

Thanks for posting, don't have twitter so I didn't see that. Glad to hear it's not what I was lead to believe :)

I'm not a fan of being timed or limited by it.

I don't see the big deal about timed conversation options, as long as they're clearly signposted and not overused. After all, the current interrupt system is basically a timed interaction option, and some interrupts take place during conversations.

I hate "You can play the game but you can only play 60% in one playtrough without going over our timelimit we have implemented for a false sense of hurry and fake difficulty"-games.

So, i was surfing the Internet randomly as IAM :), and i came across some news that Mass Effect 3's gonna take some influence from Alpha Protocol and use TIMED DECISIONS instead of the normally making it..
so PLEASE Bioware I BEG YOU to not to use this system as i want to play and discover every part of it....

Edit: Sorry guys im such an idiot.. forgot to paste the link.. here it is: n4g.com/news/667174/mass-effect-3-will-have-timed-decisions-thanks-to-alpha-protocol-multi-player-should-be-next-hhgs/pen

its at N4G so you may need to register as it has a PENDING tag on it.......

I would like to see timed decisions but just in some situations, for eg. there is a bomb and you have to choose if you wanna desable it or throw it way, in that situation of u choose neither you die or some squad member would do something.

I don't here anyone complaining about the intervention mechanic added in ME2, but timed decisions unsurprisingly has sparked everyone into a firestorm of opinions.

@DJBare What, you've never heard of Speed Reader competitions? :-P

Hey I complain about the interupts all the time.  Not them existing but how they were done.  Most are renegade interupts and the renegade ones are flat out cooler usually.  Each interupt point should have a paragon and renegade option, they should try to make them equally cool.  Also I'd put the next conversation tree up usually with avaialble paragon/renegade covnersation things so you kind of know what you will be missing.

IGN did a wishlist about a week ago or so, and mentioned that in one of their wishes, for making paragon choices in intervention a little more involved in protecting through some punch-n'-shoot action. I might've been trying to troll with that comment :innocent: Just an innocent analogy...

well, in the game Alpha Protocol, it will by default choose the option on which the cursor was on, anyways i think devs can alter it any way they like so i think it chooses by default or randomly ,it could be either good or bad..

Yeah, not exactly the most logical possibility in a game mechanic, I remember(cone...to go? :D) Whether they choose that, making a "you didn't choose anything" outcome for each timed event, or some hilariously insane 3rd option is yet to be seen. We'll probably find out... at E3 most likely.
