<An old man with an ugly scarf glares somewhat grumpily from shadows richer than they should be>

Hmmph.  Guess I'd get more motivation to start thinking about planning to accomplish scheduling of... things if I committed to them somewhere relatively public <_<

I am muddling along on two single-player modules set on the Gemworld of Amethyst (anyone still remember the Gemworlds? :():

Name: Forester
Status: In development
class: Druid/Ranger/Other magic (user of ecological bent).
Race: No Dwarven (Love them, but there is a reason)
Level: 1+
An open ended druid/ranger/briarmage sim that requires the player to develop a climax forest while defending against settlers, aberrations, drought & floods.
Among other things.

Areas will be swapped out to show growth/decay of the forest and encroachment of hunters, farmers or aberrations. Allies/companions will develop as the PC does and for their own tertiary alliances (Wolfen friends may call other pack members for assistance in combat, Fae will *definitely* summon help...).

It is not particularly story driven, but is a vehicle intended to develop non-laggy complexity for incorporation into the (much!) more epic Birthright: Trollsbane module.

Name: Birthright: Trollsbane
Status: In development
class: Any
Race: Any
Level: 1-15
The core of Trollsbane is a hammurabi-style economics engine and a political engine that will drive a rather cliche (so-it-seems) story of a farm-lad (or forest-lass or shire-shill... depending on race/class chosen) who finds he is the (probable) rightful heir of a (definite fixer-upper) castle. The main point of interest for players will be that how far the PC goes is influenced both by political maneuvering and how well he manages the Trollsfell baronetcy.
Oh.
Well, he has to overcome some machinations by his mothers family (Very rich, powerful) and his fathers (very poor, but both nasty and motivated).
Then there are the rather aggressive trolls that the Trollfells were named for...

Please do not hold your breath.
I do hope to get Forester done by Christmas, but Trollsbane is further away.
Amethyst requires extensive customization (all of which I know *can* be done, but I am still playing... er, learning *how* to do it).  The stories, content and mechanics of what I want to do are documented (mostly in a dozen notebooks :-P). I need to learn to use GMax (I, unfortunately, date back to Imagine (Turbo-silver) days <_<), and I need to become much more fluent in NwnScript. Ok. I *want* to learn GMax... I want my forrestals from sapling through sessile Dreamwalker! Grrrr...

Those who remember me from long ago (Lukahn? Grim? Patryn?... <sigh>) know I detest hack-n-slash and I insist that black and white both contain nuances in grey. I am also as obsessive and compulsive as only an old demi-immortal wizard can be.

<the old guy scowls, shuts up and fades to black>

Thanks for keeping this useful thread alive! Thought I'd give an update on my next module, "Static". There is now a moddb.com page dedicated to Static, which currently has some media available and will soon debut some gameplay footage showing off new features such as the lighting system and radio transmissions. The page can be found here.

Also I'm happy to announce that there will be a demo of Static within the next few months. It won't be very long, but it will demonstrate just how well the Aurora Engine accommodates an old-school survival horror game (as opposed to July Anarchy Prologue, where I was fighting the engine tooth and nail to make an action game).

Cheers and good modding!

News from the vault:

Chapter 3 of the Prophet series
Author Baldecaran

"I'm happy to announce that (after a ridiculously long time in development) the Prophet series is finally complete. I plan to release the third and final chapter on September 16th. This will be a single-player-only version; the multi-player version will take a few more weeks to finish. I want to thank all of those who still play NWN - this is for you."

Beshamel year 6075 is when the bad went to worse, for the life forms of the world.

It all started with the birth of a child whom was named "Alma". Only the Keepers of the world, prophets channeled with the power, and knowledge given by the Astralis, creators of Beshamel. Your whole short life, you've been a poor, young outcast - shut out of opportunities and forced to survive alone in a forest after running away from a Waterdeep poorhouse. But when fortune strikes in the form of a friendly wizard, who teleports you to a bustling city, what will you do? What kind of name will you make for yourself in the city of Bastion? A hundred paths arise.

"You were minding your own business, taking a little time off between two world-saving adventures, when suddenly you found yourself snatched away to a wizard's lab.

The wizard's name is Melvin, and sure enough, he needs your help. He lost something - a sphere - and wants you to get it back for him. Sounds like a regular fetch quest, right? There's just one problem: the sphere is sentient and is tearing holes in the fabric of time and space, jumping from one dimension to another.

You'll have to follow in its wake, world after world, and hope reality simply doesn't cease to exist before you can reach the sphere."

Coming this summer! Hopefully.

Somehow completely forgot to post in this - weird!

Name: Summer's End: The Stone and the Sentinel
Status: In development
Level: Roughly 1-5
Race: Human
class: Any, although magic is discouraged for story purposes

"It is a warm, summer's day in Selaster: a sleepy backwater in the nation of Renaar. The people of this small but prosperous town have always lived peacefully in the shadow of a great, ancient monument, but a series of events are set to change all of that forever..."

This is the first chapter in a planned six-part series, and I'd guess that it'll be done in less than a month. Content is about 80% done, but I've got a little bit more work to do, plus testing,

 Elements of Alma Series.
*Update*
The series is still being built, just due to the lack of time is delaying the full release of this series.
So far the prologue is out for play, it's a bit of a short mod that allows the player to live in the moments leading up to the main events of the series.
The Intro as like to call it is E.O.A: Shades Of Tragedy
The next part will be          E.O.A: The Soul.  Which is planned to be ready by Dec 2012

In all fairness, I should say Goblin Boy is Shelved. I'm devoting so much time to the multiplayer Arnheim module that I don't know if I'll return to Goblin Boy in NWN. I like the story enough to try it in Unity. But I think multiplayer Arnheim is going to be my NWN project for a long time.

I hadn't planned to list them here, on the idea that the thread was intended mainly for new modules in development. But given how things have been working out -- especially the amount of time, effort, and new content that's ended up being involved -- I guess I probably should. I have been working for over a year now on a full remake of the first two chapters of the Sanctum of the Archmage series. For details and more information, see my blog posts here, here and here, and here.

The initial focus of the work was to update the first two chapters to use the same new custom content system that I'd been developing for the third chapter, and to bring the lore and storytelling elements more in line with the "World of Glorn" of the Sanctum novels (which I'm also working on). It's turned out to go far beyond a cosmetic update, though, in the end involving large amounts of new story content, new quests and henchmen, re-designing and re-building most of the areas in Chapter 1 as well as adding new ones, and more. I also updated the CC system again, to merge and use the latest versions of both Project Q (v1.5) and CEP (v2.4).

An initial beta version (v4.0) of the re-made Chapter 1 is almost ready, and I hope to be able to get it to the community for an open beta by the end of November.

Name: Sanctum of the Archmage
Race: Human
class: Any

Chapter 1: The Sight
Status: In development (full remake)
Level: Starting Lvl. 1

Chapter 2: The Quest (The Miracle Worker: Act I)
Status: In development (full remake)
Level: Starting Lvl. 7-9

Chapter 3: Mission to Rayche (The Miracle Worker: Act II)
Status: In development (initial release)
Level: Starting Lvl. 8-10

The title of Bastion's Break has been changed to just Bastion. Updates are on: enigmata-familiaria.blogspot.com/
Development is still going on, though, and I have exciting news that I will have an original score composed and synthesized by a music major friend of mine. It's going to be epic.

 Hi.

I'm working on a single-player module called The Demon of Fenmire.

It will be a fairly short adventure for a level 1 character of any race or class, is set in the Forgotten Realms (near Nashkel) and the story concerns a demon, a terrorised village, the power of language and propoganda, and a chicken called George. It will contain various new, unique items and monsters and should take the player to level 3 or 4.

As a rough early estimate, I expect to finish and upload it to the Vault about a month from now. It will be published under the name Hides His Eyes (my other module, Prayers From Willowbank, was published under the name Black Wings).

I didn't post here earlier because I was hiding from feedback.

Demonheart (part 1 out of 3-4)
Status: In development.
Level: Must start at 1, doesn't go to epic levels.
Race: Human Female only.
class: Rogue, Bard, Fighter, maybe Ranger or Monk, but classes have been modified to be less magical.

Demonheart is (going to be) a dark fantasy/drama/romance/roleplaying series, result of my personal fantasy revolving around the characters from my head.

Some of the features:
  • a low magic world
  • the protagonist resurrects after death in most non-boss fights, sometimes with penalties
  • there are no clerics and no divine magic
  • friendships and romances (new bad boys for the poking; some girls as well, but more of them in Part 2)
  • too much talking
  • player choices, as many as I can manage to implement
  • grey morality in some matters
  • alignment shifts (if you don't like it, ignore them)
  • riddles, only some of them avoidable
  • ugly things happening
  • sex and sexual violence

Hail and well met....

Many here wont recall me but I used to be an active community member. Old school PnPer now beyond epic levels age wise (LOL) who loved this (these games). I was wandering if anyone knew what happened to a couple few projects I was tracking on:

1) Fate of the Auren by old Fester Pot. Ole FP came to the community just at the end of the golden age but delivered something very special.

2) Torsluda "reboot". The author was not only a heck of a nice guy but basically produced the first "overlooked gem" of a mod ; we were so taken with his work the community highlighted it. He went on to work on Darkness over Daggerford, Play the current edition if nothing else but here hoping Luspr expanded it.

3) Sad to see nothing on Eyes of Ellistrae. If truly gone alas. Still his other mod (name escapes me) was equally awesome - look up ElvenRogue on the vault

Never heard of Fate of the Auren... interesting screenshots! FP! What you hiding?! >:-|

All I can tell you about Torslunda is what he put on his blog :-/

Also never heard of "Eyes", but am now quite interested.
Elvenrogue did Pawns of the Shadovar and The Secrets of Westgate.
