Next game. I'd love all the dialogue to be in verse.David Gaider wrote...
If I could have them swear in iambic pentameter, though, I'd definitely do it a lot more.

His quote at the Kings panel (at SDCC 2008) was brilliant. He was stuck in traffic, so over the phone, he goes: "If this ******* traffic doesn't ******* move in a time, I will take out a mother******* knife and start slitting *****suckers throats".

Ahh i was focusing more on the appearance rather than size of elements; when it comes to that, you're right. In Exile wrote...
I think they have a better use of space, with the giant heads, than they did previously. Also not sure if it was this preview or another that gave us the screenshot that didn't have the ginormous health bars, since the UI doesn't scale with resolution.
Was mainly puzzled about the actual values -- 3-5% of defense/armour just doesn't sound like much, especially since i believe it's weighted against opponent of equal level. If these values are something like bonus added to the base value... then it doesn't really seem like much of difference, either.Brockololly wrote...
According to Darrah, the level cap is now 50, FWIW.

Amazing. That man has made me do something I swore I wouldn't do ever since the dreadfully undwhelming sequel too: Look forward to a Pirates of the Caribbean film.
If he voiced -anyone- in DA2 I would be joining you on a dozen pre-orders Brock!

This is by far the best-written DA2 preview I've yet read.

Agreed, on the screenshots in these latest previews because they're obviously on higher resolution screens than the combat video was done on they look better in terms of the space they take up.

As far as swears go, I hope they include some from DAO and DAA: My favourites include, "By the ****** of my ancestors," "Andraste's flaming sword," "Maker's breath," and my #1 fave, "Andraste's knicker-weasels!" If Anders returns in DA2, even for just a bit, and says that, I will honour the moment by tattooing the swear on the back my neck. It's just that awesome.

Agreed.
It was this preview combined with the PC combat gameplay video that have brought me back around.
This preview was very, very well written.

Yep, I do agree. Very well written, very informative and reassuring.
Laughed at the Q&A with Gaider.

As to how many there are total, I do expect less overall because it'll be shorter than Origins. But they've been saying that for a while.

(No, Mr. Woo, there is nothing wrong with that, as long as you guys throw some "Shadow Broker" level DLC at us to compensate for the short game

shorter than Origins = "we're making it more focused blah blah" (add more politically correct talk), which in reality means "all that long development on Origins paid off financially only to an extent and cost a lot...now we're cutting costs and making more cash"

Well, I felt that origins was a bit too long (thinks of deep roads and the fade with loathing) so hopefully DA2 wont having any excruciatingly dragging parts like DAO did.
Pace is important, especially when your dealing with a story-character driven game.
