More than half a dozen positive, and theoretically reassuring previews? That doesn't hold a lot of sway with me.

What are previews usually critical? Plenty of horrid games have had positive previews. Hell even positive reviews.
I'm supposed to be assured because previewers have expressed optimism. Give me a break.

Soooo what would make you feel better about things?

Nothing. Nothing reasonable anyways. It's not in my nature to be happy.

Before this recent preview dump, there were previews of DA:2 out there that implicitly questioned what the hell Bioware was smoking.  Not in so many words, mind you, but some were doubtful and negative.

Considering they were previewing the demo builds that we got to see either at conventions or through leaked videos, and the positive previews of a more advanced build, I think I understand why the Bioware folks weren't to keen on the leaked videos being posted all over the place.

I shouldn't laugh at the situation, yet I will. It fits so nicely.

If that is not enough to salve your expectations, then I suspect only time will do so.

And I do not control time.

Yet.

Whatever my concerns and doubts about DA2 may be (and there are still quite a few, I'm afraid), I really like you BioWare guys! Posted Image

Mike, please send me a mail once you have this time controlling thing figured out, will you? No way I can play both DA2 and TW2 AND keep up something even vaguely resembling a private life without a little temporal tinkering. Posted Image

TW2

Even though I'm looking forward to the Witcher sequel, every time I see "TW2" it takes my brain a second to realize that it isn't Shogun Total War 2.

So many good games in 2011.

Seconded.  I  skipped on the Napolean and Empire (neither were my interest in terms of history) so looking forward to shogun and to see all the new shiney stuff added.

Empire and Napoleon could be considered my favorite historical era outside of the late Roman Republic. However I just don't think the TW battle AI handled land or sea battles of the era all that well, and I got tired of the game quickly.

Your probably right which is why probably won't see TW: Industrialization anytime soon but damn I was hoping they would continue to progress time-period wise. I would love a game spanning from say... Crimean War period to Boar War. It is a era hardly touched in games and the amount of technological change I think could suit TW.

A cure for bad AI is always a multiplayer ;)

Multiplayer is also a cure for fun, so I'd say that's a cure worse than the disease.

Only if you don't think competition (or teamwork) is fun. I do, though obviously I don't imagine that's true for everyone.

For most I'd guess it would depend on the game. In DA or any RPG that is story driven I don't think it could ever be fun for anyone.

If the game wasn't rushed through development to meet a firm set deadline maybe we would have had multiple race choices and the like. Sadly this didn't happen.

A dwarf PC would not work due to the issue with magic. An elf would not, given the background of Hawke's mother in Kirkwall.

They had no problem  with class restrictions due to race in Origins, why would it need to be any different here? Its readily apparent, even though there are those who refuse to admit it, DA2 development is extremely influenced by ME/ME2. Wether or not that turns out for the best  remains to be seen however.

WAHH WAHH WAHH :crying:! That's nearly all I hear in this bloody forum, STOP it, really just STOP! No arguement, because it's IMPOSSIBLE to argue with whiners "I don't have my origins, this is the worst I want my ORIGINS!" damn if Bioware doesn't make a game anymore because it seems that NO ONE appreciates what they do, you just think about your selves and create the most ridicolouse statements, even when others try to explain to you, you STILL complain!

God! It creeps me out that some of these people just want these multiple-race choices just so they can see their bearded naked dwarf fantasy come true

I think there'd be quite a few people who would like co-op, perhaps just as simple as being able to control two characters in combat.  I don't think it's  a majority, and I'm not sure even I'd like it - but some would.

I completely agree.  They veered completely away from Origins and went for the more "preferred" ME/ME2 influence.  I put quotes around preferred because it is assumed and not a fact.  I am on my 10th play through of Origins and I love it.  I only played ME/ME2 about 4 times each.  I prefer Origins gameplay myself.  I'm unsure of DA2 but preordered it anyway and I'll play it just like I played ME but I don't know how many times you can play through DA2 since so much is set in stone.

good preview i learned a lot of new stuff. I like the fact that the main character also talks right now.
