What do you guys think? who is it? and how it'll be explained? considering that alomst all your companions can die / be killed except "Oghren" who was also a companion in Awakening and since we have Varric I don't think we'll have another male dwarf.

He was bad enough in Awakening; I can't possibly imagine how disgusting they'd make him for DA2.

Oghren will have a dramatic "Leaving Las Vegas" type role in DA2, in that he has finally decided to drink himself to death.  He will also have a special vomit AOE attack, and he will only communicate through burps.

Yep. We seem to be lacking a mage now, and we've seen a screenshot of someone looking alarmingly like Anders. I don't think it's a giant leap to the assumptions.

Nathaniel Howe already stated that he spent alot of time in the free marches. So, even if he is not a possible companion, I think we will aleast see him.

Anders technically isn't from Origins. It is starting to look like it might be him, though.

Could be someone from Awakening that we meet before the Warden goes to Vigil's Keep. So probably someone only for a short time

When the interviewer asked he said "Dragon Age 1" not specifically Origins and Mike didn't also say which game, I assumed it was Origins, I'm starting to think it's Velanna, she's the only one who doesn't have her death confirmed in any of Awakening's epilogues.

Could be. In most epilogues she just dissapears, no death confirmed. Though Morrigan is the only immortal person in DAO

Well this gives the Anders theory a truckload of points.
Or maybe it's Velanna, who will undergo much character development and finally become a likable individual.
Or maybe he's just talking about Nate. They did imply he'll be back.

Anyway, I'm not sure I'm happy about having a full companion across both
games. It just seems there'll be one companion we already know a lot
about.

Or maybe Mhairi's brain got grafted onto a chimpanzee. I support chimpanzee Mhairi for DAII.

I'd say Nathaniel Howe, since he has spent time in Kirkwall according to his background story. Maybe he'll be just a temporary companion, depending on the decisions made in DA:O

Oghren could be killed, if you pissed him off enough in Origins

Oh yeah I forgot to clarify that part, he said that the companion is returning as a party member.... then the interviewer joked about it being the mabari hound and Mike said it was unlikely, also he said that a lot of party members are gonna have cameos.
