In the first few minutes of the interview, he said "at least" one companion, not "just" one companion. Meaning that he left the door open for the possibility of their being more than one former party member who returns to join your party again, temporarily or whatever.

Also he didn't say anything about it being a companion from Origins, specifically. He only said it was someone who had been "in the party."

I'm just looking forward to the prospect of the many "appearances" from other characters. Hooray for cameos!

I don't think so, it's pretty much confirmed she's not a prominent character in DA2, also she went through the eluvian at the end of witch hunt, I doubt the eluvian gets her anywhere in Thedas.

I hope it won't be Oghren. If it is I'll kill him.

Maybe she's like the secret companion and dosen't show up till the end?

it is confirmed that Morrigan (or at least any VOICED Morrigan) is NOT in DA2.

Claudia Black isn't associated with the project in any way. (Kate Mulgrew, however, is!)

For all we know, she/they came back 20 minutes later

The "at least" part is what made me say one actually, beacuse it probably indicates the other one(s) are either temporary or depend on whether these companions are alive/dead on your playthrough.

Which is a shame, Claudia Black's voice & acting (on Farscape & SG-1) is amazing

Hopefully it'll make some sense in level terms. A character who was with the warden on the roof of Fort Drakon shouldn't be trailing around behind a mid level Hawke.

Oghren rules. No discussion, accept the truth.

On one hand, I hope he's a full time companion. On the other hand, I would like to meet all the new companions. If he's full time I'll always take him with me.

I dout they'd bring back Oghren for DA2 after they brought him back in Awakening...or maybe thats just hope....either way by the looks of the pictures of Hawke in Kirkwall it looks like it is Anders, which I wouldn't mind as he was one of my favourite characters in Awakening.

Here's a list of party members and how they can die.
Alistair- executed at Landsmeet
Leliana- killed at Lothering, killed at Urn
Wynne- killed at Circle, killed at Urn
Sten- killed at Lothering
Zevran- killed before you even talk to him, killed during Landsmeet
Shale- killed at Anvil
Dog- killed at Ostagar, never picked up
Oghren- can be killed in Awakening if left at keep without upgrades
Velanna- can be killed at woods or keep
Anders- can be handed over to Templars or killed at keep
Sigrun- never picked up, goes to die in deep roads, dies at keep, killed at Architect
Justice- killed at Architect, killed at Keep
Nathaniel- executed, killed at Keep

This leaves only a few possibilities (disregarding how the framed narrative could allow for this): Morrigan, the Dace Brothers, Silas, Sketch, Finn, and Ariane. I'm including the DLC companions because the developers have mentioned including DLC characters in the story in some way or another. Morrigan probably won't be in there because of the Eluvian (but I would like to see super-moody pregnant Morrigan as a companion- that'd be a riot). Also, she's confirmed as not as prominent in DA2.

Of course, it could be that if that person died in DAO, then you won't get them as a companion (Bioware seems to have no qualms about killing a companion from the start, judging from this whole Bethany/Carver business). I hope they don't do this. Or Bioware could wave the magic retcon wand.
I hope that however it is gets to tell super awesome stories of the warden to Hawke.:)

Damn, I forgot we can kill Velanna in the woods, but in the keep she never is actually confirmed dead so.... anyway out of all those the ones I want the most are Ariane, Nathaniel and of course Leliana :-)

I believe Laidlaw (or Gaider) said somewhere that if they really wanted a companion to return they would just do it even though he is killed/died during previous games.

Either Nate/Alistair...

Nate was confirmed in the early stages when someone mentioned him being in the Free Marches b4 Awakening. And Alistair has been confirmed to have a cameo too.

But they might as well be apparances, not party members...

I really believe it should be Anders, he's just too good of a character for his story to end at Awakening.

Wow, really interesting interview altogether. The interviewer definitely touches more on the romances and relationships than other interviews or articles I've seen. It's nice to know that Bioware hasn't taken any steps backwards with the relationships. I hope that means they've decided to have one unique romance *cough*withadwarf*cough*cough*.

PC: Didn't I just stab you?
Morrigan: Yes, you stabbed me once. I'm level 25. I'd say it's shocking that after 80 hours of playing the game, you haven't grasped the basic mechanics, but it is you we're talking about.
