From Origins or Awakening? If it's Awakening Anders or Nathanial. If it's Origins, Shale or Oghren. I'd be okay with anyone of those.

Could Sten be killed at any other point besides Lothering? Because if not, then it could simply be written that he realized he wasn't ready to die, escaped his cage and fought his way out of the darkspawn horde.

If Oghren returns, I just hope he's an optional companion. It's not that I would kill him, given the chance, I just don't want him anywhere near me or my team.

My vote is for Nathaniel or Anders, for reasons already mentioned. Besides, both are good characters who could use more development, in my opinion.



From Origins, possibly Leliana; maybe if you left her in Lothering, she ends up leaving with Hawke instead of the Warden?

Unlikely but I would like Morrigan to make a return but any character from origins would be ok, not to sure about awakening companions, I didn't like them as much as the origins companions.

We already know about Nate, and Anders is a strong possibility, due to one of his epilogue's, and the most recent screenshot of a scruffy looking mage-fellow. It's anyone's guess as to who, since anyone can die in Origins, and it can't be Morrigan. I don't think BW would allow a party member based on actions in the previous game, and Gaider has already said they will resurrect people if there is enough wiggle room.

I'd say the screenshot hints very heavily towards Anders. Might be a misleading shot, though. As the Rise to Power trailer showing both Beth and Carver in Kirkwall.

 I'm expecting Anders, which would be really cool. I'd honestly think he'd be the only one my lady Hawke would allow to hit on her sister.

It would be totally awesome to see Leliana again, or even Finn. Having Finn in the party would be fantastic.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Justice, since he could very easily just reincarnate and isn't bound to the Wardens any longer. All of his end possibilities just have him released from his body, unclear whether the spirit itself survived. Very strong possibility, IMO.

That said, I'd be happy with anyone. Even the characters I dislike could still manage to be entertaining.

Yeah, I saw the screenshot of the scruffy looking mage, that's why I thought Anders. But Nate has been confirmed? I didn't know that.

Not going to be Morrigan. Gaider has said that Morrigan isn't in DA2 and Claudia Black had nothing to do with DA2. We have to wait for DA3 for more Morrigan.

I think Nathaniel and Anders are the most likely candidates. Zevran is a longshot but Isabela's presence makes it somewhat plausible (though I think the fact that he was an LI makes it less likely), and I could also see it maybe being someone like Silas, though he didn't make much of an impression on me in the DLC. I love Nate, Anders and Zev so I'd be happy if any or all of them showed up.

I'm betting on Anders. A male mage and a female warrior are something the community has shown a lot of interest in having, which BW has claimed to 'listen to their fans about' in a past interview. We got Aveline. Aside from Bethany as a mage companion (who can be changed with Carver as a companion instead if your PC is mage), there is no Obvious Mage Companion Picked Up Through The Story yet. And since Anders is the only male mage companion, and that curious screenshot looked like him, my bet is on him returning.
