So... if I wanted to venture into Marilyn Manson's discography, what song would a fan suggest that I give a listen?

If your delusion that MM is worthy of your, or anyone's, time and is not a huge Alice Cooper rip off then
watch this: Alice Cooper - I'm Eighteen
Remember: only you can stop attention wh*res like MM

Wow...you're a jack *** ...
I'm a Marylin Manson fan and used to be the leader of a group that tried very hard to make people realize that Marylin Manson is:
1)Unique
2)AN ACTOR!!!
3)In real life, just like anyone else.
4)a great animal lover
5)STRAIGHT
6)Never had his lower ribs removed
7)Never had actual surgical implants made
I am disgusted just how much people attack that poor guy when there's alot more sick bull**** out there...namely all the bull in rap
"Im gonna slice your mom, and steal your ho, I'm gonna take my pimped ride and bounce fo sho!" ...to me, that is quite close to the main line in almost all kinds of rap.
And you say Marylin Manson is a waste of time, and a ripoff? All rappers are the same, they just have different names.
Think of what you're saying. Marylin Manson is a BRILLIANT musician and actor, and just to clarify:
Your reaction, is EXACTLY why he does what he's doing. Proving just how narrowminded many people are, that they only believe what they see.

It's hard to remain credible when you use blanket statments like that. You clearly feel strongly about Manson, but when you rip on a whole other genre in the same way you get upset for others doing to [Manson]...well it doesn't help the argument. There are a lot of positive rap songs and artists out there too (which I could go into further but this isn't the thread for that). Just like with anything else (i.e. rap, rock, religions, politics, etc...) there's the good...but sensastionalism is in the negative, and the media, she loves sensationalism.Ninjaphrog wrote...

Eminem. That was his thing for the earlier part of his career too. Neither of these men are the first to do it, they're just pissing off/catering to different target markets and have become very successful figureheads.
Oh, and to bring some relavence back...I'm partial to his cover of Tainted Love. But for kicks definitely check out the original (video) too - pure 80s goodness.
