Wow, they really made it so you have to play Origins in order to make it so you have your wanted choices, didn't they?

Hah, none of those come close to my canon

I think this sums it up nicely.

Heck, none of those allow you to have had Alistair make the US. Not that that was my canon, BTW. (HN Warden->DR | Loghain->recruited | Alistair->executed | Anora->sole monarch)

I know we were told it would not go into depth, but I wonder if all of these default imports have the same choices (Mages, Bhelen, etc.), and if so, what are they?

Yes, it would be good if we can get more info on the storyline choices that happened in each option; eg: what origin was the Hero of Ferelden, what did the 'No Compromise' Dwarf Noble decide to do in Orzammar and what's happened with the Awakening choices?

I can understand choices like in Witch Hunt or Awakening not happening just because you DIDN'T PLAY THEM, but for a default import, those choices (any of them, really) need to happen because you didn't have the option of not playing those situations out. Unless DA2's default imports actually do go the extra mile of assuming that you didn't make any choices ever except for the ones listed.

Sure, but going off of the other descriptions, they mention that in the "Hero of Ferelden" one, it was the Warden PC which killed the AD and survived. The only way for the person making the killing blow to have survived was to have done the DR, nevermind that it only mentions Loghain sacrificing himself or Alistair ruling with Anora, rather he rules alone.

You can certainly survive without doing the DR like you said, but its different than the "Hero of Ferelden" ending they described in the article.

Misread. My bad; you're right. I was going on the title of 'Hero of Ferelden' alone.

Still wondering if Alistair is exiled or executed in the Dwarf playthrough.

So wait....only the three scenarios from Origins matter?

I thought that all or most of the imported finalle combinations would play a role...What about playing as a Dwarf Commoner, a mage etc?

These are the defaults for those who didn't play Origins.

So those who didn't are basically missing out with the fact that not all Wardens' stories/decisions would be counted in? So I guess GameZone better explains what was already revealed in the AbsoluteGames' interview....nice!

*Goes to hug his copy of DA:O* :)

(My only concern is that other important decisions for other Warden races/actions at endgame not listed in default ones will actually play as an important role as those three would....unless those three are somehow more important)

Even if we got the choice to use a saved game from Origins, it always includes a "replayability" factor if we only got one saved game.

But my question is : what has make this particular choices? is there under that any analysis of the player's accounts (IE: what are the mostly played origins and ending of the community) or was it a choice to simply offer a bigger diversity to start wihout importing a saved game?

Oh, a selection? Sweet! I wonder if there's any chance of them adding one that randomly generates the world state. It'd be pretty fun to be able to go into DA2 without any foreknowledge every time. :D

I'm confused. If we have a playthrough with different outcomes from the outcomes of those three listed imports, is my playthrough used or reflected in the game? For example, If I have a city elf Warden, does DA 2 take that (and my other choices) into account like Mass Effect? Or are we just choosing from those three options?

You can still import like Mass Effect, those are just the defaults if you don't import. Instead of say the Mass Effect system where there was only one default.

the review also says this:

Starting out the game, players are tasked to select from three builds to carry over from the first game if they don’t have a save to upload.

so those are basically for the people who did not play the origins to choose just like what they did in mass effect 2

I for one am REALLY excited for what sounds like a revamped soundtrack. I mean, I love Inon Zur, but he tends to go for the heavy bass and brass, doom and gloom tracks. After a couple of hours of the Orzammar track, I found myself missing the bagpipes and bard music of Lothering. Leliana's song was sort of hit and miss for me, but I LOVED the zippy bard battle music it got.

That it sounds like Inception.... is not exactly reassuring, but here's hoping we end up with something new and interesting!
