From the Curse Interview

"So, if you took Bloodmage, Bloodmage represents the entire tree of potential abilities. When you start the game you have access to six trees of abilities, and then later on you get a specialization point at 7, and one at 14, that lets you unlock higher level specialties. For a mage it's spirit healer, blood magic, and force mage."

Oh dear, my favorite spec -- gone!

It was the Mary Sue of mages anyway. Ugh, I do invoke that term a lot lately.

I play Arcane warrior a lot, but I'm not sad to see it go. It was ridiculous and overpowered imo. I am more interested in playing a more traditional ranged dps/crowdcontrol mage than wearing heavy armor.

I wonder what Force Mage is, hopefully an actual elemental casting spec.

I'd say force mage is the blasting, pure damage spec, while Spirit Healer heals and Blood Mage deals with crowd control. However, that's based on Origins spells.

Telekinesis?

Edit: Ninja'd.
I'm going to guess it's more in the vein of offensive spells that deal with the elements, like Cone of Cold and the like.
With that said however, as much as I adored the Arcane Warrior specialization it really was too overpowered for it's own good.

"Max level is now 50, which you're unlikely to get to :)"

Mark Darrah did a smiley during a sit down interview? How is that pronounced?

Force Mage sounds extremely cool and I'm glad Spirit Healer is back. I'm not surprised in the slightest that Arcane Warrior is gone, and I'm not upset to see it go either. I pretty much agree with scyphozoa's sentiments. I realize a lot of people liked it, but...meh.

But mages should totally be able to wear armor without investing in strength and defend as well as warriors while still casting spells. I mean, that's what people play mages for, right? To wear massive plate armor and get right into the thick of combat.

Bleh. First DW warrior and now Arcane warrior and Shapeshifter. *sigh*

Maybe if Morrigan turns up in DA3 thats when they'll reintroduce Shapeshifter.

Well, SWTOR Online did have Jedi Wizard until that got renamed...

Incidentally, this Shepard looks just like my "main" Shepard. 'tis unsettling, it's like she came to life and started posting on the forums.

Hopefully enemies actually scale up to level 50 this time around.

Well, if there's an ability as satisfying as using a full powered throw down a corridor full of husks, I'll be happy.

I'm hoping it's something like we see in the Destiny trailer- combining melee staff fighting with magic.

I didn't care for arcane warrior that much, but for those who did, I am sorry for your loss.
