Bye-Bye Arcane Warrior

I think he meant that universally too, if so that's... way better then I was originally thinking (3 + specialization). And pretty sure the elemental stuff takes up 2 tabs worth, or 3 for Mage already so would be a bit silly to have a specialization around it. They should bring something very unique to the field not reiterate existing stuff.

He won't be missed. And look, we might get a mage specialization that actually involves magic! Not possession from beyond the veil, or forbidden arts, or becoming a melee death machine! A spec with actual, pure, blasting, magic!
I'm excited about that. I might even play a mage this time around! I can be a magic casting mage! Who would'a thunk that?Blasphemy!
But seriously, I agree completely. When I play a mage, I want to be wearing a dress, standing in the back lines, and throwing fireballs because if I did anything else I could break a nail. And that's how it's supposed to be. (Exaggeration).
But yeah, I never understood the desire for Arcane Warrior (though I do understand the desire for multi-classing); if you want to fight in armor with swords and such so bad, why not just play a warrior?
Mostly for RP reasons, and it adds a bit of flavor to melee combat. I just started a new DAO play through and DLed the multiclass mod, I made a 2 hander fighter, with some drain life and raise undead. Throw in some debuffs and I have a sort of antipaladin type... guy. It isn't necessary no, it just adds more options to play style.
Of course if I had my way there wouldn't be classes at all.Fair enough. I'm speaking more for gameplay reasons, but if you factor in RP value, then everything is worthwhile to someone, sometime.
But for serious, though I will miss the AW (what can I say, I like chucking fireballs into groups of people, then jumping in and stabbing the ones that get up... and then shooting the big ones that are still up full of lightning...

I will miss AW but I expected this and like Relhart said mage is moving close to being an AW warrior anyway so if you want it just spec your character accordingly.

Only three specializations has me worried though. The only specialization I am only remotely interested in at this point is Force Mage. Could we have a little light brought in on this?
There were only three mage specializations in DAO, though.
There was not and never shall be any Shapechange specialization and nothing you say or do will make me admit otherwise.

Hmm... I gues I might be misremembering changing into a giant spider... or was it a bear... no, it might have been a swarm of biting and stinging goodness. Or was I hallucinating.

Yeah but they're each going to have more spells.Shiro_the_Gambler wrote...
Arcane Warrior, Spirit Healer, Blood Mage and Shapeshifter. They dropped us down by one.

Clearly you were having a seizure brought on by Morrigan disapprovaing over your reluctance to beat orphans to death with burning cats.
Please, consult your physician.

You would not happen to know of one off hand. I might not be well.
But I thought I did smack around a few orphans with incendiary felines just for Morrigan's approval.
As for more spells in the new specializations, that is all well and good. I am all for a greater quantity of spells, but personally, I don't like two of the three specializations we have now.

Hmmm I liked Arcane Warrior, but Spirit Healer = win. Everytime I read about Force Mage I can't help but think about a Mage using throw or pull.
Yeah, it gives me flashbacks to my Psionicist from Allods.

Telekinesis?
Does that mean we'll get to flay people alive... with our mind?
Maybe we'll find and unlock more specials as we play the game, perhaps similar to DAO? I've had my heart set on playing a shape-shifting blood mage on my first playthrough.
