Saved him, I always have the "persuade" options maxed out in any RPG that have them.

I didn't realize that it would have turned out badly for Wrex until after the 'boo-doop!' sound and notification of the unlocked achievement. And I'd missed out on the armor side quest my first time.

I didn't know you could actually kill him, but I loved Wrex from the get go. Did his quest, bit Ash's head off when she suggested keeping an eye on him, and talked him down. And boy was I glad come ME2.

Wrex is win.

However, I do remember fInding out Ashley would have shot him if I failed, one of many reasons Ash is at the bottom of my list of favorite characters.

Well, if we're condemning characters for stuff they don't  do in our personal playthroughs, keep in mind that Shep too can kill Wrex, and be completely psychopathic about it to boot (just go the "Shoot him as soon as possible, then have the body dumped in the swamp" route). So logically, you also ought to dislike Shep, and to a greater degree.

He's lived through every playthrough I've had. I had no idea Ash would kill him if you didn't, and well, I'm glad it's never come to that. Wrex was 1/3 of my powersquad and I loved his "Shepard! My friend!" in ME2 :)

He's never died and never will. I took him everywhere in ME1 and miss him badly in ME2.

The first time I think I did his mission and had enough Charm and Intimidate to go about any way with it. That said, in all my play throughs I only killed him once to see how it went and it just felt wrong. I've never failed and had Ash shoot him, though.

I actually got his armor before I got the quest, I was just exploring and picked it up so for my first run-through I was pretty much set

Is anyone's soul black enough that they would purposefully kill Urdnot Wrex?

I don't remember honestly, but none of my save game imports to ME2 had Wrex killed. I think I might have missed his loyality quest in my first playthrough, together with alot of other things I missed.

All this. I loved Wrex to begin with as well; I got his family armour before knowing it could stop him from dying and fortunately he survived. I hope he has a larger role come Mass Effect 3.

I never had a problem 'saving' Wrex. First playthrough I didn't do that much sidequests, so I couldn't play safe with the armour thingie. Even then I hadn't any difficulty Paragonning the sh!t out of him.

Mine is.  I think having to kill my good friend Wrex was the single most emotionally charged scene in either game.  Talking him down just felt lightweight in comparison.

I didn't even know he COULD die until I read about it online. It just seems unfathomable, it's Wrex we're talkin' about here.

Of course. My first run Shepard was a sickeningly goody two shoes paragon and completionist; no way that krogan would die.

I kept him alive in all of my games except one. I always talk to everyone in BioWare games so found out about the family armor in the first game and went to get it in each game, except one. I was sad when Ash killed him, but in that game he was a threat to the mission.
