He died for me. I stuck mainly to the main story and he was terminated by Ashley Williams.

I admit I went to virmire too early and Ashley popped a cap in him. My mouth probably hung open a long time and my saves were all on virmire so I had to stick with it. I knew pre launch about Kaiden/Ashley but had no clue about Wrex.

Good rule of thumb: Do every Paragon quest available in the game, always select Paragon conversation options, and use charm as much as possible and things will generally work out ok.

Yeah like that Asari Eclipse merc that goes on to murder innocents if you let her live. Or destroying the collector base containing tech that can help level the field against the Reapers. Smart...

Wat? Not only is there never any mention of her again, but the one person she killed had sold her and her friends a lethal poison without telling them about that part...

Please don't post misinformed crap. You hear about her again in the news and she murders some people. Look it up on wiki if you don't believe me.

I saved him with my Paragon goodness first time through. I didn't know he could die until after I finished the game and I saw talk of it on these boards, I didn't even know he had a side-quest until I saw it mentioned here too.

I failed miserably my first time through, although it's not like I'm importing that save into ME2 any time soon if at all, so it's all good.

He's never died whenever I've played the game, as I've always completed his personal quest.

I don't think I could ever kill Wrex.

The first time I played, I had enough Charm points --but trust me, I nearly fainted afterwards. And on subsequent playthroughs, I knew about his personal quest.

*Looks at Elnora's wiki page*.  Nope.  Not mentioned.

ETA: Also, not on the News Stories page.  Were you perchance....misinformed on this matter?

My original Shepard talked him down Paragon-stylie. That Shepard no longer exists.

My main Shepard gunned him down herself. Nothing gets in the way of the mission.

My current Shepard, a human supremacist who has turned out Paragon of all things, will be keeping him around. Krogan are useful.

No, no, no...

Wrex lives.

A couple of weeks ago, I was making a speed run and I got to Virmire... No personal quest done and not enough skill points on charm/intimidate. Ashley shot him in the back.

Wrex dying was heartbreaking. Ashley was growing on me lately, but watching enjoying herself that much when she finished him off... ugh... Back to square one.

I reloaded the game and cheated the hell out of it with the console. Wrex lives.

Why is it that so many don't has the guts to save their own rear and shoot an angry Wrex that Ashley ends up having to do it?

On my first playthrough, he died at first. I sat there in horror for a few minutes and then yelled "NOPE!", loaded an earlier save, and made sure to level up my Charm instead of whatever I did before. I'm glad I went back.

I saved Wrex. I've always made sure I have high enough persuade in any game that has the option. I did not know he could die until ME2 was released and saw that one of the events that carried over was whether Wrex lived or died ^_^

I saved him, of course. My first character i a full paragon (in every rpg), and persuasion is a must in every rpg so charm was maxed out, then it was easy. Only one of my character (a ruthless, renegade male Shepard) killed Wrex, personally.Because that Shepard is a mean SoB.

Then again from now on I will save Wrex in every playthrough, because it's so great to hear Wrex saying "Shepard! My friend!" in ME2.That's so heartwarming, and even cute. Wrex is a true bro'.

I did. It was pretty easy for me since I had done his quest for him.

Again: Shep will behave exactly the same if you pick that option, and you can even make Shep handle the entire incident like a complete sociopath.  And yet, no one ever says that Shep sucks due to that...

Also, the fact is, Ashley shooting him, even in the case where you don't explicitly tell her to, is still the result of YOUR actions. It's entirely up to you whether or not she steps in.

How do you work this out? If you haven't done his armour mission and you haven't got enough persuasion points and you are not going to shoot him, Ashley does and you can't do anything about it
