and I'm not able to complete it, does Vigil's Keep fall if I choose to save Amaranthine? It doesn't seem like there's anything I can do.

What do you mean it's glitched? You mean how there's a quest arrow over Dworkin even after you completed the quest?

As long as you give him two pieces of Lyrium Sand and he tells you how that's enough, you'll be fine. The problem happens when you find a third piece, in which case the quest will activate again, but you won't be able to actually give the Lyrium sand to him.

I cheated and looked this quest up to make sure I did it correctly, and avoided any possible bugs. The trick is to not give him more than two pieces of lyrium sand at once to him at first. Usually I get the two pieces from Kal Hirol, and then separately acquire the pieces from the Keep Basement, and Silverite Mine. I've done this quest a few times without incident.

I'm not sure if you have to do everything possible to avoid having Vigil's Keep being destroyed if you go after Amaranthine, but if you're that concerned, then either reload or save the keep.

As far as I know, you have to do everything possible to avoid the deaths of any of your companions you left behind at the Keep.

A piece of text from the Dragon Age Wiki:

**Spoilers below! If you do not want to be spoiled, hit dat nice red x button in the upper right of your screen (or press Alt + Left Arrow to go back one page).**

If the Keep's defenses and soldiers have been upgraded enough, the Keep will stand on its own for a week (or if every upgrade available was obtained the Keep will completely survive), however, the Warden-Commander cannot return to the Keep for the remainder of the game. If something was not optimized (e.g. no granite to upgrade the walls), the Keep will fall and the companions who were left there will die (although their codex entries and the end game credits may contradict each other).

Dworkin's quest isn't bugged, I thought it was but then I found out there's actually 4 places to get lyrium sand. There's two in Kal Hirol and people usually miss one so the quest never gets completed.

It's def bugged still. I've found 3 100%, I went back to check found the piles and the lyrium skeleton. I may have missed the silverite mine one, dunno can't go back. I think I might have turned in 1 then 2 at a time from kal' hirol. Very sad, was going for perfect play through. :(
