*added* How could I forget Navigator Pressly? He didn't deserve such a fate and should have returned in ME2.

Nihlus because he looked cool and I wasn't impressed by his death.

Jenkins because he should have at least gotten an opportunity to kill a few guys first!

Nassana because she was going to pay Shepard a ton of cash before stupid Thane killed her.

Nihlus' death felt a little contrived. But then if he didn't, he likely would've discovered what Saren was up to and the story wouldn't have been so epic.



Pressly's death felt especially cheap. A console explodes in his face and he just falls over head.



I'm curious why people DIDN'T want Vasir to die. You'd never convince her to change sides. She was firmly in the SB's camp.

Well Pressly is racist and therefore deserving of his fate.

I do find Nassana's death a waste of a good character.  Think Xanatos from Gargoyles.  Tela Vasir should have lived simply because she called Shepard out on her bs regarding Cerberus.  Wilson because more could have been gained from his living than we ever got from his dying.

Exactly.  She would have made for a great recurring villain.  Shepard's mirror, in a way.  Or an unindoctrinated Saren.  She could have been an antagonist with skills and resources on par with Shepard's, and is as devoted to "her mission" as Shepard is with his/hers.  She could have been a window into seeing how outsiders view Shep's actions.

(Is it just me, or is there a certain amount of this reaction to any character to whom Bioware dares to give the slightest complexity in terms of a flaw to overcome?)

In my first playthrough, Kelly Chambers died. I cursed a lot at Bioware because I thought I had done everything right. Yes, Kelly is a bit of a **** and responsible for the scale itch on the Normandy, but she didn't deserve to die like that. Oh well, my 2nd and 3rd playthrough only happened because of this, so I guess it's "mission accomplished" for Bioware.

now I feel ashamed.  of course.  the thorian was by far what made ME1 so memorable.  indeed, i was deeply upset when the thorian died.  goshdarnit bioware!
