I may be wrong, but I could have sworn I saw a dev saying that the companion was not going to be revealed before the pre-order period was up somewhere.

Well seeing as I got some money for Christmas, and as I'd like to play the game as soon as possible, getting the SE makes the most sense to me. Then I don't have to pay extra for the DLC later, or miss out totally if it's SE exclusive. Having said that, I only got DA:O recently, and when I saw that the DLC codes "expired" months ago, and when I saw the servers seemed to be down, I had no intention of actually paying more for Shale tbh. Luckily the codes worked a day or two later :-P

And sure, I guess you can wait a year or whatever till an Ultimate Edition comes out if you want, but like I said I wanna be playing on or before March 11th. If you want real value for money, I suggest waiting bout ten years cause then I'd say you could pick up the game for like a Euro or Dollar or whatever currency you're using. Of course by then we'll all be living in spaceships orbiting mars, and we'll probably deal in Credits.

BUT I wouldn't mind seeing who this secret person/elf/orge'll be beforehand

Very few retailers, I imagine, won't let you cancel a pre-order. I don't know what the problem is with just pre-ordering now, and if they reveal the bonus character later to be something you don't care about, cancel and get the game some time later.



Especially with retailers who don't charge you until the game ships.

Blue orge for companion/LI please. It could just be a secret shape that Aveline unlocks like that Flower Girl and Heavenly Gate Guardian in Jade Empire.

But a Blue Ogre is too manly, I want a pretty Pink Ogre. With a pretty pink bow. Eh, I mean the kind to go in her hai...., do ogres have hair? My character totally seduced a Desire Demon, so I think LadyHawke would be into a pink ogre.

EDIT: Man, do I have a talent for writing Ogre wrong, even when I know how it's spelt. Any possible way to profit from this?

This was funny for like 10 seconds and then by the time I realised it wasn't I'd already opened photoshop and wanted to see it through to the end.

Im confused because the Sig Edition calls it a bonus "PLAYABLE" character... not a bonus companion like Shale was. So does that mean there is another character besides Hawke we can play as or something?



Oh, and on the matter of Shale, she was never intended to be DLC, there were development problems with her though early on with her fitting through doorways so she got cut then put back in as DLC when they worked the problems out shortly before release.

I actually thought it looked like a quiver...  But, on balance, you're more likely to be right.  We already have Varric as our ranged rogue and Isabela as our melee rogue; it seems unlikely we'd get another (and we know archery is confined to rogues in DA2).  Metallic armour seems to point towards a warrior too.
