This is a big gain from DAO. This very much reduces the need for something like the No Follower Auto-Level Mod which I though was essential in Origins.Mike Laidlaw said...
In fact, we’re even being more lenient about how your companions progress: while they will all have some abilities when they first join your party, they won’t be fully spent, letting you start customizing them earlier than you could in Origins.
I'll probably still use something similar for DA2 should one be available, but I'm much happier with the default setting than I would otherwise be.

I bet we get a new animal companion.
That would be awesome. I'm open to all sorts of animals, but if it ended up being a wolf, I'm sure my first squee would wake the neighbours two states over. One of the things I liked most about playing a rogue/ranger in DAO was that I could not only have my mabari with me, but also a wolf. That's probably why I played a rogue more than any other class, heh. So, yeah, I'm all for a new animal companion, be it a wolf, hawk, horse, cat, etc.

Given the emphasis on Kirkwall I can't see a wolf, it isn't what one would call a urban animal. A dog (though probably not a Mabari being a prized animal in Ferelden) could be very likely.ACWolfe wrote...

While I can't see it taking up a companion spot I too would love to see a animal that is more non-combat oriented. Could fit like a summonable pet.Sylvius the Mad wrote...
I'd love to see a smaller animal. A cat - vulnerable in combat but effective for scouting and sneak attacks - would be very interesting. Or even a mouse just for scouting.

I hope you meant Kirkwall. Cornwall is somewhat different. In Exile wrote...
I was sure that Cornwall was modelled on Athkatla
There was a bad preview a while ago about the Hero of Cornwall intead of Kirkwall. I like to bring that up sometimes.

Damned things frighten me enough in the real world.
You know...Minsc once mentioned something about getting my BG2 character an Ice Weasel

My issue is that, while I'm bilingual, I rarely get the chance to practice my french and I'm terrified that I'm going to accidentally insult someone's mother.
Just don't say "mère" or "maman" and you should be good.
J'aimerais que vous parlez en francais, une fois! Tu peux le fair!

Feel sure we will appreciate an official presence in the French BSN, even in your native language,JohnEpler wrote...

Perhaps it 's a way like another one to get this chance to practice?
Do you think my English is so good?Of course not, but at least, I want to break this language barriers.

I know the feeling. I had poor experiences in Quebec. My french is decent gramatically, but I have an accent. I also have a hard time understanding Quebequois French instead of French French when it's spoken. I was treated quite poorly in Quebec City during a month-long summer course I took.

I understand what you mean, but don't you think it's quite like a jamaïcan accent vs a truely english one?So for the quebec one, it's the same thing.Man should not be afraid about that.In Exile wrote...

In Exile - fortunately, I was in french immersion since I was but a wee lad, so my accent is apparently very Quebecois. Or so I've been told.
