Men are visual, women are emotional. We make up are minds as soon as we see them, & will only slowly change our minds afterwards.
Some men also seem to like to tear down women based on their appearances & personalities more frequently on this forum then I've seen screaming guests on Oprah.
Equate that to science.
I equate it to upbringing.
I equate it to intelligence & willpower
There's not much of that around here.
If Isabella and Aveline are the only two Female LI, Who will you choose?

Alistair the male elf?HolyJellyfish wrote...
You said the traditionally attractive Alistair wasn't comparable to Isabella.
No, that was you attempting to compare how the male and female LIs were being treated. The only fair comparison to make is how males and females react to a single LI for both.HolyJellyfish wrote...
If you want to compare LIs,
I neither disagreed nor agreed with your conclusion. I simply disagreed with your basis for the statement.

People love food, without it we die. Some people like certain kinds. When they are at a dinner & only two plates are set before them & they don't like either they are going to complain. & yes while some may nibble on the undesirable meal & some will go hungry, just because they don't like the meal doesn't mean that they are objective about every meal they eat or that they hate food.
Yes but people don't make it their job to complain and scrutinize every single aspect of what they eat constantly and make sure that their opinions are heard over the table while the cook is standing right in front of them.
Just stop tearing down the lady characters from DA2 because of their perceived personality or unfinished appearance, in front of the Devs who created the damn game.
It makes you look bad.

Now, the answers here are easy.
Men are pigs - we want lots of women . . .the more the merrier.
And as for getting to know them - bah, that's over-rated. Much better to speculate wildly and make these decisions based on nothing but looks. And looks in a couple of pictures, too. Some of them quite poor quality.
Yup, that's the way to go. Shallow.
No, that's part of my problem. Men aren't pigs. I'm a pig. If you show me a woman in a video game, I'm going to ask if I can sleep with her. If the answer is 'yes,' I'm going to do so.
She doesn't have to be attractive. She doesn't have to be young or have a well-developed personality. She has to be female and willing to spread her legs for the PC.
This is because I like women. I like muscular, Amazon women who can bench-press cows. I like ****ty pirate women who cheat at cards. I like crazy Orlesan bards who tell me how they enjoy seducing someone before killing them and that the Maker worships them. I like antisocial swamp witches with serious emotional issues. I like ice queen, genetically perfect control freaks. I like shy, tech loving walking encyclopedias, both the blue and the masked varieties. I like self-centered princess ninjas. Humorless, holier-than-thou Jedis. Sadistic, vicious priestesses who tell me how they brutally get revenge on others.
And that' s just BioWare games. TVs, books, movies, cartoons, comics – to me, real life is like being a fat kid left in a Willy Wonka factory. There are so many desirable women in the world and I desperately want to screw them all.
THAT IS BEING A PIG.
Men don't do this. Men, to me, are like rail thin food critics who head to a restaurant and turn their nose up at every dish.
"The smoked trout in dill and scallion marinade has a slightly acidic aftertaste and therefore tastes like dog ass. I could not possibly eat this." <- This is what Maria hears/reads when a group of men discuss women.
That . . . was magical. Honestly.
I am impressed, amazed, and astounded. Is there a Church of Maria? Because I want to join.

You mean the far more traditionally "attractive" male elf against the far less traditional appearance of Isabela? It doesn't really say that much.HolyJellyfish wrote...
Idon't think men are pigs, but there are far more players complaining about the Female LI for guys then there are complaints about the Male LI for the ladies. And it has been equated to 'She looks like a man' 'She's too fat' 'She's butt ugly' etc.

I'm lost in my posts, my bad.
Regardless, my argument is Isabella is fine for an LI confirmation, we don't even know is Fenris IS confirmed, you still have another LI in the works, we don't even know what LIs are ours. I don't know why people are uneasy.

Those conversations aren't really about women, and indeed, might as well be about food. I always thought it was like a pack behaviour, it's a heady mix of competition and reinforcing group ideology.

You keep using "you" while quoting me, I don't have an issue with Isabela. I won't know if I like her or any LI until I get to meet them in the game. You also seem to be assuming a lot about me.
