Awesome. I can expect Lady Hawke to be horribly scarred when she comes back to the shack in Kirkwall to find mama Hawke in assless chaps working over a naked Aveline with her riding crop.

I was really just thinking about spankings anyway.

I was very happy to learn I'd have a single female love interest, but you guys are complaining that you might only have two. Moreover, you've already decided they're not romance material.

Why not get interact with them and get to know the characters before completely writing them off?

That said, I'm sure there's another female companion waiting in the wings. I expect she'll be written by David, a love interest, and conventionally attractive. She might even be an elven mage.

I'll choose both, obviously. (No, not in the same playthrough.)

I'm thinking Isabela for my first playthrough, mainly because my first Hawke will be sort of naive and innocent and idealistic, and it seems like it might make for a nice clash (rivalry romance ftw). Ever since I saw her draw a knife on Hawke in that first trailer before getting smooched, I knew this is the path I must take. Weapons + smooching = 

But Aveline seems like a really interesting character, very solemn and stoic. If she does turn out to be a LI (though frankly I have serious doubts), I will definitely be interested in seeing how that plays out, what with her being (very) recently widowed.

As for looks, well I think they both look fine. But more importantly, looks don't really factor in for me in a video game like this. I guess if you're playing a character who is sort of shallow I could see that, but I'm more interested in who the character is than how they look.

And as for getting to know them  - bah, that's over-rated.  Much better to speculate wildly and make these decisions based on nothing but looks.  And looks in a couple of pictures, too.  Some of them quite poor quality.

I think I'll be happy enough with the love interests mentioned here. I consider the times and in a war torn story and the times there is probably a lot of widows around. As for Isabela, nop problem there either. My character is not going to be some choosey buddhist monk that demands a chaste virgin. I like the sound of her character as well. Sounds saucy.

Based just on appearances and what I know right now, I'd say Aveline, because at least she seems a bit different from the standard female LI stuff we seem to be getting lately.

Of course, knowing my luck, she'll be completely hetero.

Also, second choice is 'both'.

That's kind of you, but we really are.

Nah dude. There are plenty of guys on this thread who didn't strip down either character to being butt ugly or were more interested in the progression of the story than who was a looker, some who are willing to give them a chance.

Then there are those who have made it their personal mission to tell everyone how ugly Isabella is instead of just supporting and being happy that they have two LIs as opposed to the one that most Homosexuals have to just accept in-game.

You mean the far more traditionally "attractive" male elf against the far less traditional appearance of Isabela? It doesn't really say that much.

That Attractive elf isn't even confirmed to be an LI yet.

And there are plenty of people on Varric's thread who think he is the sexiest thing in the world.

Isabella is fine and sexy. Her wallpaper is gorgeous. She isn't even finished in-game design wise, and people are tearing her down. You don't even know who your second LI is.

I had to deal with the sexually promiscuous and non-traditionally attractive Zevran, I think Isabella gives you a nice level of diversity.

That is kind, and while I was being somewhat sarcastic in my presentation, it is true.

Of course, not all of us are, let's face it - many of us are.  We're very superficial that way.
