No. Kinect is a joke that needs to die in a fire, along with the rest of all this motion controlling, casual BS for soccer moms.

Amen. Hope it takes 3d with it.

After 2 games, I think Shepard doesn't need more facial changes OP.

If you buy an overpriced security cam for that, I'll make you the Darwin Award of Conscious Customers.

There's better uses for Kinect than that.

Like for using Biotic abilities, or body language during conversations, or, perhaps most important of all, for use during Paramour scenes.

I may be one of the only people writing in here who has actually used Kinect. Point blank, it works, no matter what you are wearing or how tall you are. I have friends that range in size from 5'1" to 6'3" and it worked for all of them. Eerily well. I think it could be used extremely well for hardcore games if it were implemented correctly and I was one of its biggest haters before it came out. It changed my mind. Also, you can use Kinect while sitting down.

I think it could be used for Mass Effect in some very creative ways. Perhaps voice commands could be used during cutscenes or during interrupts. Also, the motion controls could be used during mini games the same way they are used to control the dashboard. Move your hand to line up different things or to move circuits or tiles.

It could be done, but it would need to be an option. That way if you didn't like it, you could just turn it off. What would be the problem with that? I'm all for trying new things with Kinect, but don't make them mandatory.

Motion controls?

No, please. There are kind of games that are better without it.

You don't think seeing your own face in the game as Shepard would be sweet?

I would not, I created an avatar with my facial features some time back, it just didn't feel right seeing my own face as the character, it disconnected me from the game, odd as that sounds.

a) many people play games like this to escape their lives for a couple hours, and rarely you will get people wanting to play as themselves.
B) who the hell wants to play as themselves, with a different voice??
c) I hate motion control crap anyway. Kinect/PSMove/Wii...ALL BURN

I think the Kinect should be utilized in the galaxy map. How awesome would it be to pick your destination using your hands? It'd be like Minority Report.

That would be a waste just to use it for that.

I really can't see them adding this stuff for ME3, maybe some future MP game or something but not ME3.

I was really against the idea of using Kinect in ME3, until I read this.  Well, this and the idea above about the minigames.  But definitely no more than that and I also agree that it should be completely optional...

I hate motion controls too, but I'm not talking about any motion controls. Just the facial recognition feature, that's all.

I think it would be ace to be able to cast "Throw" and "Pull" with Kinect.

There is a much easier way to do this. Allow people to upload their pictures to a website that converts the uploaded pics into facecodes.

Just like FIFA 10 (and I'm pretty sure 11).

Considering it's EA, they should be able to pull this off.

And Mass Effect is like the best game which does not require LIVE GOLD in any way... So I say you don't need to have GOLD for this? That's annoying.

I wouldn't mind Kinect if PC games supported it. They don't as Micro$oft wants to sell 360s so I can never support something I unfairly don't have access to.

No, thanks for asking. That wouldn't interest me at all. If I wanted to get up and jump around, I'd go clubbing. If I wanted to see spacious, well lit rooms, I'd visit my mother. My home has nothing but dark, poorly lit rooms that primarily depend on computers for light. Not to mention Shepard can't have glasses so my face wouldn't work under any circumstances.

Here are some ideas for how to use Kinect for Mass Effect 3:

1. Galaxy Map: Use hand motions to control which planets you go to. All the planets in a system would come up and you would swipe your hand to choose between planets. You could also grab planets that you have drained of resources or have no more missions on and throw them off of your galaxy map. This way they would not clutter up your galaxy map and you would know exactly which planets still had resources and missions on them.

2. Mini Games: Use hand motions to line up circuits for safe cracking. Also, instead of the standard code hacking sequence it could show you a picture of what code sequence you are looking for and mixed up code sections below. You could grab code sections and layer them together to mirror the image of the master code.

3. Interrupts: Instead of pushing left trigger or right trigger you could make motions for your interrupts. Every interrupt should have both paragon and renegade options. For example, in ME 2 the interrupt involving the quarian in the opening mission. You could swipe your hand from left to right for the paragon interrupt or hold your hand up like you were firing a gun for the renegade interrupt.  This would also give you some clue as to what the interrupt was going to be. So,  you would see the motion looked like firing a gun and if you didn't want to shoot that person you could either pass on that interrupt (not likely) or go with the paragon option.  This would be good for us ParaGades.

4. Weapon and Armor Selection: You could have a screen that appeared with your armor pieces on the left and Shepard on the right. You could then drag different armor pieces on or off him. With weapons, assuming we go to a model of weapons which allows you to add or remove parts from a weapon, you could bring up a weapon and drag different scopes, magazines, stocks, etc. onto the weapon.

5. Keypad Hacks: Instead of circuits for doors. You could use your omni tool to hack keypads. It brings up a number pad and shows a pattern of which numbers you need to push. You then have to push each key in order to open the door.

Once again, these are just a few options and should not be mandatory. Just some options for those of us that enjoy the prospect of using Kinect in real games. Anybody else have any ideas?
