Just got ME1 for the pc yesterday and I downloaded the latest patch for ME1 plus all my drivers are up to date. But  the problem is I get blue screens on a random basis. Sometimes it"ll happen unexpectedly at the wrong time or when i'm on a mission. This is constantly ticking me off and is making this game unplayable for me.  I can't even enjoy the game knowing it'll crash on me at anytime

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965
RAM: 4gb
Hard drive. WD 500gb
Video card: Nvidia GTX 460 768mb (Drivers up to date)
OS: Windows 7 home 64 bit

Try rolling back your GPU drivers to the previous ones and testing the game see if you still get the crash

How do you downgrade the drivers?

There are plenty of illustrated guides for that all over the 'net to look up, all in greater detail than you would get from the sort of brief descriptions that message forums rely upon. What we do not have in your case is a problem report with any details. Please refer to Chris Priestley's description of a report, quoted by me, pinned near to the top of the index page in here.

You have a Bug Check 0xA: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD. Do a search on suppport.microsoft.com.

This is likely a bad driver or memory hardware error.

You need to setup your system to not reboot after the BSOD. The BSOD screen will tell you what driver caused the crash.

You should verify that all your drivers are up to date, especially chipset, video, and audio.

If you have multiple BSODs that are not the same you may have a memory hardware problem. Testing your memory with memtest86+ is also a good idea.

Ok i'll see if i can do that. the thing I noticed is the blue screens usually happens at the early stages of the game like on the citadel. Anyways i'll try your methods and see if it'll work.
