Two things:  If you will read back, you will find that Addai's comparison to life in the Kocari wilderness is like battle every day rubbed me wrong.

For clarity's sake, we were comparing Morrigan and the Circle mage in the Tower of Ishal.  You said you found it difficult to believe the Circle mage showed up at Ostagar without a healing spell.  I pointed out that Morrigan didn't have one either, despite the fact that she had had to fight for her life since childhood while that Circle mage was stuck in the Tower and only let out for a single battle.  Not battle "every day."

Perhaps it's not a valid assumption to say that any healing spell is "simple."  In the lore that seems actually to be a demanding skill, and it should be if you think about what it actually takes to knit together the intricacies of nerve, bone, and other tissue.  So the average Circle mage or Morrigan not having it is perhaps right on the money in terms of realism.

Perhaps, and perhaps not. But it is certainly consistent with game balancing, since the Tower is already pretty heavily nerfed.

Except any mage with any magic ability (above the minimum anyway) can heal at least a "little" for one talent point at any given level.  Not only that but any circle mage has the ability to make simple healing potions from elfroot (ridiculously common) and a jar....and potions are ridiculously effective for most mages (because of their high magic).

That seems to imply that at least rudimentary healing is pretty simple.
