Would you be alright if no matter what you do there was no way that you could beat the reapers?

I'm fine with the idea of an ending where you lose. As long as there's a "perfect" ending as well.

I have a hard time seeing a way that you could win at this point.

Yes well Shepard did build his/her career on doing the impossible.

I'd be pissed if no matter what you lost to the reapers. It's a video game there is always a way.

There needs to be a way to win.

I don't care how hard it is, I don't care if it takes 5 playthroughs to find it, but there needs to be a way.

I fairly enjoy the idea of losing no matter what. It really only makes sense at this point.

It's alright with an optional loss ending, but an unavoidable loss ending would be absolutely horrible.

I want multiple endings - you lose, you win, you win but also die etc.

Not always, see Halo Reach.

Reach was very refreshing in that way. I enjoyed it immensly just for that fact alone.

I quite like the idea of winning in the sense of taking back the earth, the galaxy from the reapers but with the knowledge that the fight would never be completely over.

It angers me in real life and games likewise. No.

In both the games they constantly say that once the Reapers show up it's game over. I would hate for them to be attacking earth to find the ark.

In Reach you lose and die as a hero and it worked.
But Halo Reach is prequel to Halo 1, not ending of Halo trilogy.
I mean if we have only "you lost" ending in Mass Effect 3 then everything you did in Mass Effect 1 and 2 was pointless.
Reapers won, they continue cycle of extinction and nobody will know.

Firefly quotes gone wild!

Shepard will do the impossible and that will make him mighty!

He's are not gonna die. You know why? Because he is so... very... pretty. He's just too pretty for God to let him die. Huh? Look at that chiseled jaw!

But no, it will be one epic battle of awesomeness but in the end, Shepard will prevail, even if its on a wing and a prayer.

We won in Mars Attacks and War of the Worlds, so why not in ME?

I think it would be great if the only thing you could do was leave clues for the next intelligent life so that they have a better chance of fighting the Reapers

Reach is a prequel where you already know the outcome though, you don't lose in the end of the main trilogy. If a ME spin off was set during the first contact war then a compulsory bad ending would be fine, but as this is the main trilogy it would be terrible if you couldn't 'win'.

Like I said, as far as an alternate ending goes, I am all for this, as the ONLY ending, no...just, that...no...just no.

I'm okay with it as long as there's a way to stick it to the Reapers... like ensuring a large enough population survives, with technology, to continue advancing unbeknownst to them.

I could see humans going out like the Protheans as a possible "bad" ending. Having to leave some kind of clue as to how the next great race can finally stop the Reapers or the rest of the galaxy rallys over the lost of most or all humans. *shrugs*

Shepard making the best of a bad situation is fine, but I don't want there to be a "perfect" ending.

I didn't buy these games just to see my Shepard lose.

I'm in it to win it! *Rocky music*
