Well, considering I probably never would have even heard of Dragon Age: Origins were it not for the inclusion of a s/s romance (I read about it on a gay blog) and considering the reason I bought DA:O was because of the s/s romance, I am incredibly relieved and excited. Image IPB

I want an achievement for being ninjamanced by Alistair. Seriously, how did he pull that off.. I'm still trying to figure that out.

He's very easy to be ninja'ed by I found. Your warden is just THAT hot!

Heh, must be, not complaining of course. It was just like "Ok, time to wrap up these quests before we go to Denerim and tackle the Archdemon...hey what's with the rose? Oooooh. Ok, we can do a few more sidequests for awhile I guess."

I have no idea . Not working for bioware.

We shall see in a couple of month .. Eh?If it's was a good or bad idea for them . If they approved it..It's was certaintly a great idea.I just hope it's just not fan service for a minority of people at the detriment of something more important.

I hated Alistair and somehow accidently romanced him. Now the acheivement is there, staring back at me forever.

I was pretty sure s/s relationships would be included in the game, so I wasn't surprised. Bioware does a great job with all the romance options.

But I do think that having achievements for romance options is well...in a word tacky. But that is just my opinion.

I think that's a bit unfair to David. He doesn't enjoy tormenting us. He wants us to have a realistic view of the situation.

As it's usually the case i think it's a little from column a and a little from column b Image IPB

(not that there's anything wrong with either column)

This gets a very enthusiastic thumbs up from me. I was already jumping around with excitement at the thought of playing DA2, this will just make the game that little bit more awesome.

I'd just like to echo Catabuca's comments too, I also look forward to the day when these things wont require massive threads and debates as to whether or not they will be included and are just accecpted. Here's looking forward to getting me some of that man loving, I hope it's Varric, I'm so hot for a dwarf romance :)

I meant to add a little sidenote there but failed to do so. Probably the lack of caffeine.

When David comes into same-sex romance threads to tell us that same-sex romances are a minority interest and that we shouldn't also expect they'll make it into the same, I don't believe he's attempting to torment anyone.

Ahh; yes then, in this particular context i'd pretty much agree. Never got impression there's torment meant there.

You could argue, from a superficial perspective, Morrigan is more clearly fanservice than Zevran or Leliana ever were. And yet, her romance is very popular.

Certainly Liara was fanservice...for men. Her romance is popular as well.

Honestly, do you believe the quality of DAO suffered because of s/s romance?

I just read this article.  There's a link embedded in the piece about BioWare, as well.  Thought folks might be interested.

I don't really get how people can be bothered about the prescence of S/S romance...its the 21st century, get over your prejudices. If, like me, you don't particularly want to engage in S/S romance in a video game, then...and this may be beyond some people's intellects so I apologise in advance...don't, and allow the people who do want to do that kind of thing to do so. Simples?
