I don't really get how people can be bothered about the prescence of S/S romance...its the 21st century, get over your prejudices. If, like me, you don't particularly want to engage in S/S romance in a video game, then...and this may be beyond some people's intellects so I apologise in advance...don't, and allow the people who do want to do that kind of thing to do so. Simples?

I don't think it is about prejudice, some people like to roleplay in their minds what kind of character they want to be, if like I said earlier an achievement is linked to being the opposite sex to what you want to be and/or a S/S encounter it can be difficult to avoid. The obvious counter debate to this is that some people may not want to roleplay being bad, the difference however is that there is incentive to be bad, as you get numerous chances to do this and it has an overall effect on the gaming experience, where as being a homosexual has little to no incentive, other than a stereotypical all gay men are easy dry hump by a camp fire (for the M/M romance).

Dear sir, you certainly do live up to your name. Now, if only others could be so logical.

Totally agreeing here. I like it for those who would like a same sex romance. Personally I'm more into m/f, but that doesn't mean I think that the other is more or less, on the contrary Image IPB Good job Bioware for not being hyprocrite and offering everyone equalness. Image IPB

Besides, as has been mentioned before: the romance part is just a small and OPTIONAL part of the story... stop making so much of a struggle of it peeps, we're grownups in the 21th century ffs.

Okay, because no one else is going to ask, where is this confirmed? I'd like to read about this if anyone would be willing to provide a link.

Edit: Totally not a spame image btw. No less than the OP linking us to a vid expressing his feelings. Why should I not be allowed to same pleasentry? This thread is called YOUR reaction to S/S romance being confirmed? If you're gonna take down one image/vid, you should take them all down.^_^

People have asked. Several times.

They have been answered. Several times.

On the last page, no less.

Try readin' next time, 'kay?

Note: Sorry if this sounds overly harsh or something. It's not meant to be. Though it wouldn't hurt to, y'know, actually read the topic before saying no one else has asked.

If it's not meant to be, you shouldn't leave comments like "Try readin next time, 'kay?' That's pretty condescending and totally unnecessary. It's like saying "You're an idiot and your opinion sucks! Sorry if that sounds overly harsh; it's not meant to be!"

Surely going for achiements generally is a problem from a roleplaying perspective? If the game gives achievements from either side of a decision, and I've already got the one that would suit this characters personality, I can choose to meta game or roleplay.

Happy, thought there wouldn't be s/s because mHawke may be too "pre-defined". I hate feeling alone and isolated like in Mass Effect.

I'm happy. I mean, I probably won't partake, but I'm glad the option exists. And to SirLogical, I must say I agree 100%.

You don't have to play a homosexual character.  I played a male character to romance both Morrigan and Leliana and get the achievements.  You can very easily get the achievements for Alistair and Zevran in a female playthrough -- and you can get Zevran's before Alistair's.

Not an interest of mine so I don't care, though I would be irritated if they chose to make all the LIs have a s/s option. I realize some people want that and occasionally the idea is put forward in the forum but to me it goes to characterization. Some people are just straight. If the 4 or 5 game LIs are all bisexual, that would seem odd.

I had assumed, this being BioWare, it was a given. So no reaction at all really.

Well, you're not being forced to do anything.  If you want the achievements, yes, occasionally you have to play a character that is different from how you perceive yourself.  Your argument is one against having any love interests (or at least achievements for) that you personally are not interested in.

A lot of people don't like the romance achievements -- that's a different issue.  but saying there shouldn't be achievements for people who prefer love interests other than the ones you prefer because you like the rp is...  not that great an argument.  Since it would take at least three playthroughs to get all achievements provided you didn't reload to get various achievements, if you only play through once, you're most likely not going to get all the achievements anyway.

Edit; Everyone has their preferences.  If it bothers you that much to play a character that is different from you, then don't.  is missing an achievement really that big an issue?

I have to admit I am CONSTANTLY surprised how many people are so fixated on Zevran that they bring him into every thread that deals with male love interests.  In a negative way.  Zevran certainly threatens people on many levels.

I can't believe you would use the M. Bison "Yes! Yes!" quote without "This is delicious!" to go along with it.
