So are Aveline and Isabela the only girl companions? I mean... one's a macho chick... and the other is, what, a pirate? In Origins I felt like a high school kid again, not being able to choose between Leliana who is girly and cute, and Morrigan, who is dark, very unique looking, and so mysterious that I could almost never predict her reaction.

I guess they just gotta grow on you. Or maybe I can play without the romance options, whatever happens. I'd just like to hear other's opinions.

They haven't revealed all the companions yet, and there's Bethany too (obviously not a romance option).

It'll be like.. Aveline is great. Nuh-uh she has man arms. Isabela's chin is gross. Why can't bethany be romanceable? I don't like this game. Whaddya mean Isabella is gross? She be a pirate and hot wench! bioware really screwed the pooch in the looks department. you lie! no you do!

You don't even know Aveline is an LI yet. Maybe we should wait patiently until after christmas when you've been good boys and girls?

And the DLC, if that can be counted for. Not LI, but still... if that DLC char is anything like Shale, s/he will own the entire team.

Going by Origins, those will be a dog, a golem and a qunari, which might not really address the OP's concern.

I can't remember exactly what was said about companion outfits, but does anyone know if there will be a slot to change Isabella's "helmet"? I really hope she doesn't spend ten years wearing a silly bandana: I'd like the option to take it off. I think she'd look a lot prettier then.

Hello there!

I found myself asking the same question. Aveline doesn't display machismo at all, though some might come out when we interact with her. I wouldn't mind if she were macho, actually.

It occurred to me that macho is probably the nicest way to phrase what he was saying. He could have said butch or manly -- those actually seem more judgmental to me than macho.
