Slow loot spawning!

Has anyone else experienced this:

You have to kill someone and you go and you do it...woohoo happy dance...and then you wait...and you wait...and wait...and wait...and...

nothing happens...so you reload and try again...you wait alittle longer this time...and FINALLY the magically beautiful "Quest Complete" or "Quest Updated" appear on your screen.

This also happens after you kill a group of darkspawn or whatever else you have it in for...you wait forever and nothing shows up...you end up running back out the same way and there are the picked clean bones of the VERY loot empty corpse, now having a bow or a greatsword or a health potion stuffed in him.

Is santa just late or is the game sorta slow with the updates???Posted Image

I've noticed this some, but it seems tied to how you killed the monster... the ones killed while iced over or petrified and the like have to wait for the spell duration to expire...

not really... if the monster is frozen solid, it'd kinda hard to pick it's pockets

Yeah I've seen the slowness, and nothing to do with being frozen solid since the only magic spell I used besides healing was sleep + waking nightmare.



Seems to be a tigger that doesn't properly end or something. I've stood over dead bodies for 30+ seconds before it finally allowed me to loot it.

Not just when I used those spells, it also happened just from regular combat. I'm saying it can't be just magic since I RARELY use it and have seen it happen with no mages and only archers / warriors in my group.

I've noticed that some are able to be looted quicker than others. I think it has to be something with their death animation and bleeding out or something. I don't know, just grabbing for straws.

Happens to me a lot too. I heard it has to do with a memory leak issue. But, I dunno.

It's definitely a memory leak issue. Me and my girlfriend had a marathon session on the weekend (she played I slept, I played she slept, haha!) where the game was on for more than 30 hours straight! Anyways, after about 20 hours of playing we were noticing that the bodies would take two or three minutes before the loot glitter would appear. Save/reload also worked, but doing that for every little skirmish was a pain. On a hunch I quit the game and restarted it a few minutes later, and then everything was peachy again.

(Using Xbox360 version)

I allways run with fighter team and no spells or abilities used, so "supposed delays" are not possible, but it takes sometimes almost a minute to spawn the loot on dead enemies like wolfs and so on.

I think this is also an issue of memory leak mentioned in the other thread.

From my personal experience at least, when I encountered the long loading time caused by the leak, the loot screen usually takes up significantly longer to show up, and the action of looting the item itself would lag as well.



Try completely restart the game and it may solve the problem temporarily.

Oh, you are running it on Xbox? This isn't the solution for you then. This only works on PC.

Oh well guess there is not much we can do about it, except to wait for a patch.
