quick summery of the article:
What IGN wants:
- Space Combat
- Better load screens.
- Planet exploration with the new vehicle.
- Better paragon actions (I really like the ideas from the IGN article)
- More cause and effect of your choices.
What IGN doesn't want:
- Multiplayer.
- Linear Combat sequences.
- Boring load screens, bring back elevated but with better banter.
- Starting a character from scratch (I don't mind starting at level 1)
- Planet Mining
So, what do you want or don't want?
My list:
-More exploration, I loved exploring in ME1 but the Mako vehicle sucked and the terrain could make it a chore rather than fun. A space exploration game, it seems exploring different planets would be a must and with the graphics now they could create beautiful planets like in The Overlord DLC. The vehicle works well and I hope from the DLC's its just a small taste of what we will see in ME3. Also being able to upgrade and customize this vehicle like everything else in the game would be pretty cool even if you can do some cosmetic customization.
- To see the Quarian's in their natural habitat without their suits. A quest in ME2 kind of lead to a possible path to bring peace to Quarian and Geth, maybe people's wishes will be granted since if you chose Tali as their love interest, people expected to see her without her mask which was disappointing.
- More Items, weapons and armor, for both player character and companions. I understand them wanting to streamline the inventory system since ME1 had tons of items that could make it annoying for some players, not me tho, I love RPG's and inventory sorting. But limiting to the extent they did in ME2 made a lot of players unhappy, need to find a happy medium between ME1 and ME2.
- Helmet and head gear removal during dialog. This was very very annoying to the extent I didn't wear anything on my head. Dragon Age did this right, Helms would be removed for all dialog, would even be nice if it was removed all the time other then combat. If they gave players the option for this either on off and what times would be great. I used a mod in Dragon Age that removed helms all the time but still got the benefits for wearing it, I dunno, I like seeing my characters head.
- Space combat, it only makes sense to have it, could have random encounters happen when just exploring similar to Dragon Age and the old Fallout games. Think with the graphics now they could create some very
beautiful battles.
- Must get rid of planet mining for minerals. It makes sense you need these minerals for upgrades but spending hours probing Uranus was not fun, well the funny comments when doing so was quite amusing. I think this was the main thing people disliked in the game. Luckily for us PC users we could easily cheat, I don't cheat in games but this was a must for my other 4 play throughs.
- A notification when stores have new items in stock, maybe a message sent to your computer.
- Companions; Would like to see more banter between companions, I don't recall any during the game off ship which I really missed cause some would be quite amusing. Before leaving ship on a new quest or location maybe have a companion ask before leaving the ship if they can come along if there's anything there that relates to them. Also some sort of notification that a companion has something new to say other then relating to loyalty missions would be nice, I spent a lot of time running to each companion after each mission to see if they had anything new to talk about and some would and some didn't. I also want past companions to have a bigger role, since either Ashley or Kaiden didn't make it out of the first game, Wrex as well, they only played an incredibly small role in ME2, I want to have all companions from the first and second to have a much bigger role. I like having a new set of companions for each game but I do miss past ones and was really excited when I first saw them in ME2.
P.S.
