First off love 1 & 2! So my wish list for next holiday season?

1) Fixed mining. Its not the tedium so much (it was actually somewhat fun for me), but it always.. felt wrong. Human colonies are disappearing, weird signals in space.. but the hero of humanity is taking time off to do mineral surveys. Doesn't quite fit, you know? What would fit though - especially after all the build-up of rep in 1 & 2 - setting up / sending out your own mining missions, piracy sorties, buying up your own businesses and hiring who you want to run them, setting up trade lanes.. I'm not talking Civ or Master of Orion here, but more like fire-and-forget things you set up that will pay off over time, and that might even generate missions 'Your shop on Citadel is being made an offer you can't refuse. Go refuse it.' 'Your adviser's want to set up a trade line through sector X, can you scout for the best location?' Fits the theme, generates money, can still be made into short little mini-games (stock market, mini 'strategy games' like connect-4 with ships), no tedium.  Woo - or even mercenary missions!

2) More RPG during missions. I know ME2 had more missions.. but it never really felt like it to me. As soon as the 'you killed my master - now we fight!' began it always became a straight-up run of the mill shooter. Fun enough, but jarring to go from RP to shooter so blatantly. There were moments when that was broken up and it really felt like 'shooter with story and important choices', but they were few and far between.

3) More action during RPG.  Guess I'm beating a dead horse, but just blurring the line between 'now you're doing a mission' and 'now you're safe'.  I liked how in ME1 I could suddenly find myself in a fight without expecting it, it made the space feel more alive.  In ME2 it felt more like 'ok, now we enter the dungeon, get your swords ready'.  Along that same lines, larger spaces to explore. I was So excited to finally see the Krogen home world.. yea, it was a little valley, a lab, and a guy fixing his truck.  Oh, and of course then there were two linear dungeons.  I really don't know why ME1 felt bigger even though I know ME2 was.. but it did.

4) Please please please tell me when conversation options open up with the crew. The nifty secretary could hint 'hey, go talk to so and so'. Or visually they could stand different. I just feel retarded when I try to strike a conversation with my crew and they tell me to go away and stop pestering them. How long does it really take to clean a rifle anyway?

5) Lose the ammo. Or let me carry a lot of it Get what you were doing with it, had some fun tense moments with it, but I never touched my heavy weapons for fear that there was a boss around the next corner (which means lost all the fun I could have had with the heavy weapons), and if I'm playing a sniper I want to be able to cheerfully snipe to my heart's content instead of counting down bullets. I also want to figure out why oh why I can't carry more than 13 bullets. I'm rich, let me buy pockets so I can bring another clip along. (So here's more constructive criticism - let me choose out how much ammo I carry by swapping stuff out, old-school backpack style. Ammo is this big, you have this many spaces / can carry this much, how do you want to allocate it? Want a whole bunch of ammo for your sniper rifle in turn for those unused pistol-clip slots? Lose access to the assault rifle to carry more sniper rifle? Have at it.)

6) More chances to pick up powers from a different class instead of having to play just that class. Maybe let me do a cloaking adept so I can feel like a ninja. Or a charging soldier. Etc. (Basically let me customize my growth tree a bit more) For some it will give more replay value, and for those who don't have time to play a lot it will make the few replays that much more enjoyable. And maybe let us drop some existing powers to swap it out for others ones. Never plan to use 'Throw' or 'Concussion Ammo'? Why not swap it out for something you'd have fun with playing? (And of course more points so by the time you finish the game you feel like you did in ME1 - large and in charge with your dots lit up like lights on a Christmas tree)

7) Please don't waste a lot of time on multiplayer. I have Global Agenda, I have Unreal, if I'm buying the 3rd Mass Effect its not because I need another multiplayer FPS, and no one is going to go 'yea.. I'm not going to buy ME3 if it doesn't have multiplayer, what's the point'. If they bought ME1 and ME2 as single player, they want ME3 as single player. Just spend that time making ME3 truly epic instead!

8) Oh, and yes, I'm a fan of adult-content. My gf has boobies. I like the ones in games for the same reasons I love the ones on her - they are lovely and they make me happy. Not saying anything gratuitous and over the top, and if they don't fit don't put them in, but given that the average player age is 30 I think it should be safe to do what movies were doing 20 years ago and a side-boob won't kill a baby-angel. Unless the baby-angel is on Fox of course, then it will massacre the little git. Anyway so.. whatever you feel is appropriate, no more and no less.

9) This is just a bit in the field because I think 9 is a prettier number than 8, but more interaction with squad-mates during missions, so the one you took with you made more of a difference. Did really no one care that I was walking through major cities next to a Geth? Were my constant companions no closer to me then the guy I always left out by the garbage compactor because I didn't like the way he smelled?  Let me chat with them sometimes, let me see the Krogen dance - it would add so much replay value if I felt compelled to see how different people would react to the worlds I am on, or even the missions!  Also, point (6) should also help with how I'd have to take particular crew members because they filled in holes in the gap of the current class, instead of who I'd actually rather be fighting beside.

Ok, so that's my wish list Santa, good luck at the end of the year, hope you make it come true!

(Oh! one more! Can you make the Renegade-gaining options feel more like a tough-guy who does what needs to be done and less like a three year old who wants to pull the legs off baby-kittens? To me Renegade should sound more like 'You have orders to kill the next person walking in the room and its a kid, what do you feel? The recoil of my rifle Sir!', not 'I am going to push my potential hostage / manipulation tool out the window 'cause he smiled funny at me' There. 10!)

I am pretty much agreeing with IGN apart from SPACE COMBAT. Of course I think there should be space combat however under no circumstances should you be able to fly the ship and shoot. I would much rather like it how it was done in ME1 or ME2 but you should have a lot of decisions inbetween that alter the outcome and individual space battles (like which fleet attacks where and when and who do you help with the Normandy etc.)

With ME3 I want a patch for ME2 that changes the endboss into the concept art version that is shown in the art book of ME2 collectors edition. Without spoiling anything, I mean the one that is "small".

They actually made an amazingly concise and decent list that covers a lot of the things wrong with ME2.

If they just threw in some other things like

we want to:

Romance Samara

Real Squad Armor

Helmet Toggle

Planets in galaxy map that aren't shi*

Dont Want:

Mission complete screens

PRESS F TO END MISSION

Normandy teleportation to HUB worlds

I think it would have almost been a perfect list

I want my crew back.

This. But especially Tali and Garrus. As squadmates, not only in cameos.

More inter-party banter, like in DA:O, would be nice, too. And more conversations between the crew and Shepard. More romance dialogues.

Honestly, that's all they should change. The rest was fricking perfect already.

I pretty much agree with what has been said above but as long as the following will be included I will be happy:

- Resolution to the batarian/ human situation, with the levathian of dis, and the batarian super weapon (the mirror one mentioned in ME2) being involved, as well as a batarian squad member

- Futher development of existing races, hopefully we can visit the homeworlds, see the females of the species (expecially turians) and find about stuff such as the Lystheni offshoot salarians of the turian/ volus allience that always interested me. A hanar, volus and elcor on board the ship as crew would be great, expecially as we didn't even get to talk to any hanar in ME2 and having them on the team would be a chance to flesh out the species a bit more

-New races, maybe only 2, with the raloi and the yahg being explored, as well as the vorcha and drell

- The weapon system in ME2 was good but alot more weapons would be nice (maybe just double the amount, with the previous weapons staying) for some variety

- The hub worlds to be a bit larger, expecially the Citadel. Hopefully we can actually walk around the Presidium this time.

- Party bantar DAO style where the party members actually interact

I want to see hub worlds, females of the species. return of squadmates if they were kept alive.... planetary exploration including hammerhead/mako/skycar doesn't matter.... even a submersable would be sweet for the ocean worlds like Kahje. squad armor... but they can keep their custom looks onboard the Normandy. like the ME characters did even with their armor changed on mission.

I WANT...

...the Mako. I loved it. Bring it back. The Firewalker couldn't even walk across fire so phhht!

...a fixed ammo system. All they have to do is have clips but you only need to use them when you overheat your weapon. Make it so. In the first one I had the overheating bug. In the second there wasn't enough ammo and I had to pistol whip half the enemies to death (although there seems to be more on my second play through; did they do something in one of the patches about that?).

...actual choices. I would never have joined Cerberus in any capacity.

...actual consequences instead of just an email from the Rachni Queen, for example.

...my actual crew, not these new posers who wear spandex and cry about how hard their lives are.

...to kill the Illusive Man. With a spoon.

...more Auto-Saves before combat and decisions and after cut scenes. I had to replay the entire OMEGA-4 sequence (from before the jump to after we crash landed) because I accidentally chose teammates I didn't mean to.

...to be able to romance all your crew. My female Shepard needs her some Garrus lovin'.

I DON'T WANT...

...to ever ever ever see the Quarian faces. The mystery would then be ruined, just like giving Boba Fett a father and an actual face (ugh, I feel dirty for even bringing the poser trilogy up).

...to even touch down on Earth. I live here. I don't want to play a Sci Fi game that takes place here as well. Especially in a space opera.

...DLC that's available at game launch. If you have it made, put it in the darn game.

...to have to put my disc in the drive to play the game.

Enable previous romances from ME1 and ME2 be expanded further with not just a romance scene before the final mission.

Especially Liara, one could imagine them both supporting each other given their actual roles.
That would be great. Oh, and some kind of dialogue pilogue (that should vary a lot depending on your actions from the 3 games), hopefully including your LI and seeing what'll happen to your Shep and him/her.

IGN recently wrote an article on the good and bad of ME2 and the improvements we'd like to see.
http://pc.ign.com/ar.../1138513p1.html
quick summery of the article:
What IGN wants:
- Space Combat
- Better load screens.
- Planet exploration with the new vehicle.
- Better paragon actions (I really like the ideas from the IGN article)
- More cause and effect of your choices.
What IGN doesn't want:
- Multiplayer.
- Linear Combat sequences.
- Boring load screens, bring back elevated but with better banter.
- Starting a character from scratch (I don't mind starting at level 1)
- Planet Mining

I like their list.

First, i really prefer ME2 than 1. I think that decreasing number of talents worked out preaty good. I remember when i took Tali for missions just for opening things and makeing healing better (and i liked her). But what i want in ME3:

- Big, BIG impact of your previous decisions (WREX! Rachni! and more)

- Gameplay more customized to your class, differences in cutscenes (ME2 -> you'r a soldier, you'r an adept, whatever, in cutscenes you shoot colectors with rifle.. blah) or in dialogs ( for ex. some people dislike biotics and stuff. it does make sense, does it?)

- Fuel.. I don't like refuelling.

- Dialogs between squadmates more in ME1 way or like Dragon Age. I don't like "Hey, a piece of wall, talk to Grunt about it"

Also on Normandy, more situations like confrontation of Tali and Legion, but maybe not only arguing. Just more relations between squad.

- Mele weapon, i'm quite crazy about this kind of stuff, and i think that it would work good with all the bariers and things. Not anything too big of course. Let's move on.

- Takeing off helmet during conwerations.

- Space combat, hmm... I had a lot of fun with cab in liar of shadow broker. I don't mind other activities from time to time.

-I got overheat bug in ME1. In ME2 thermal clips worked just fine, no more no less. This could stay as it is.

- I prefer loading screen than some elevators. Well, maybe if good dialogs included.

- And EDI. EDI and Joker couple. Must be.

I Want

Grenades back

Armor Customisation with slightly more than three patterns to pick from.

Ammo Powers to return to Ammo Upgrades, allowing more powers to come

Biotics go through shields again

To recruit a new Turian AND Garrus

To recruit a male Quarian (Kal'Reegar was awesome, I made him survive)

I don't want

Tali to be the only quarian in the squad

Normandy SR-2 (bring on SR-3!)

Some way of getting max credits. I liked the rich achievement.

A LOT more tech/biotic powers. And Combat Powers

Want
As much of the crew as possible from ME1 and ME2 in ME3

More decisions to be made in ME3 and make decisions more obvious than ME2

Have more free roaming capabilities (e.g. ME1 roaming but without the Mako and taking half an hour to get places)

Enable previous romances from ME1 and ME2 be expanded further with not just a romance scene before the final mission.

Have weapons visual appearance able to be customised (had enough of having a red assault rifle, yellow heavy weapon, blue sniper rifle, grey pistol and white shotgun)

Have a more customisable Normandy (not just weapons etc for the last mission) like have customisable bedroom, lounge area etc

More side missions than ME2 but not as many as ME1

Dont want

Inventory (hated having to go sell everything after each mission)

The Mako or the Hammerhead

Not just Collectors in the main missions

That sums up my wish list.

Agreed, but you make different choices on the fly during the battle which leads to different cutscenes.

I want better romance scenes, similar to the ones from the first Mass Effect and not those 2 second long scenes that ended in a heartbeat. The romance scenes in ME1 were longer and had more meaning and feeling compared to the scenes in ME2.

Also bring back some of the minor characters from both games that may have a bigger role in the third game, whether they act as squad mates or crew members. For example, bring back Shiala. She is/was an asari commando and a skilled biotic. Plus she seems like a love interest for the 3rd game, and I've really taken a shine to her. If the arm stroke/kiss that Shiala gives Shepard wasn't a big enough hint that she will have a larger role in ME3, that I don't know what is.
