Ever since the trailer released I have been surprised by how many people seemed absolutely shocked that Earth is being attacked. From when Anderson said "Even Earth isn't safe!" in ME1 I knew that Earth would be attacked at some point. ME2 just confirmed those views. I know that I wasn't the only one, either. So to see so many people surprised that the Reapers are attacking Earth just seems funny to me.

A human has crossed the plans of the reapers in me1 a human has destroyed the pets of the reapers in me2(and attracted the bigger and meaner things to the human race) the human homeworld is the on the edge of this galaxy the human race is like a virus spreading (fast growing) and they need some agents or cannon-fodder and humans are similar to proteans, the reapers are attacking from the edge because some funny guy thought to dely they invasion from the middle, so would I be a reaper and count. 1+1= earth then the rest of the galaxy. by the way they are attacking England bombard them with hages and English women and they flee in terror and never come back, poor reaper.

I hope BioWare didn't pick Earth to appease to gamers who think earth is the center of the universe. Many fellow gamers saw Mass Effect as an island in the storm of that nonsense that is holding the evolution of gaming back.

No offense, we all like what we like, but I don't want my likes ruined to appease to others when they have tons of other choices.

Call of Duty realism? Mass Effect is science fiction. All other potential comments on that matter would violate rules of this forum.

If the Reapers were bent on claiming Earth it shouldn't take them any longer than two days...unless they were decharacterized.

For the love of all...when will a game be created that escapes the monotony of boring earth??

I think that one game of 3 can have some action on earth... c'mon...

And still people don't realize that, the race the Reapers want to extinct, are the HUMANS. Earth = human. What do you eat for breakfast if you were not mentally ready to see earth in ME3... are you on drugs or something? Oh and again, it's not the end of the world if out of 3 games, we go on earth at least once... we should have gone there a couple times... -.- now people go take a nap and think about this.

Reading many posts here I think most of the users don't take their time to read our objections properly.

Just to clarify: many users are not surprised by the fact Earth is attacked. They DO AGREE that we saw that coming and that in-game reasons of it were pointed out in ME2. There's no need for you to repeat the same 'Earth is under attack, because...' We know why, thank you very much.

What we don't like is that Earth may be presented as a center of the Galaxy in ME3. And many forumites like, say, AwesomeName made good, clever posts clarifying and defending this opinion.

/sigh

^This. I think people are overreacting because of one trailer. I'm pretty sure the whole game won't be in Earth, more like one big mission similar to Suicide mission of ME2 on which you prepare for most of the game by gathering all races of the galaxy to join the fight.

But it basically is from the perspective of the reapers, especially if your actions in previous games have led to human dominance in the Citadel space.

I don't think it will be the "center of the galaxy", but one of the main interest because the race who is facing extinction is humans... so it is totally normal. I'm pretty sure there will be enough action before of arfter we go on earth. Can people TRUST BIOWARE ? They made the best games ever, and people are pooping on the next game because the INEVITABLE is coming... c'mon. Bioware will make this game better than ME1 and ME2 united.

Again...can we please, ever, have a game that doesn't appease to "earth is center of the universe" fans?

Many gamers are tired of having to co-exist with them.

Why are you so upset about this? In the whole Mass Effect series we've had only one mission in our own solar system, it was only a side quest and didn't even take place in Earth. ME as a series is not Earth-centered, even if ME3's main goal would be saving Earth. ME1 was about increasing the position of humans in galactic community and ME2 was more human-centered but still not about Earth. I think it's about time we get to visit home planet of humans. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to as much visit Turian and Salarian colonies or home worlds since we haven't seen any of them yet and I hope we get to do that as well in ME3.

Mass Effect's climax as a series coincides with the climax of ME3. They are one and the same

It's still only 1/3 of Shepard's story and doesn't defy the whole series.
