I have a doubt, when I saw the stats saying more than or close to 50% of the ppl play as Soldier and almost the same thing when ppl voted for favorite class, it really doesn't feel right for me cause I have lots of friends who played ME and almost noone has soldier as a favorite class, my point is most of people just play as a soldier cause they do the fast costum Shepard and don't even choose the class, I really would like to see the stats if Bioware change the display of choosing class every time you start a new walkthrough.

I would like to eveyone post his favorite class, why it's your favorite class and How many classes experienced (by this I mean reached atleast lvl 20 with that class), also if you wanna comment something more you are free to do it. I will start-

My favorite class is Vanguard, charge is the funniest power in the game and they make me feel a bad-ass killer m*tha f*cka :D
I also experienced(full walkthrough)- Adept, Infiltrator, Sentinel and Soldier
played just a bit with engenier
every class is cool in is own way

(for the lasy ppl who don't wanna read all- the point of this thread is to know if you have a favorite class or if you just call it favorite cause you didn't tryed any other=])

They're all well balanced and fun, but I've always been more in tune with the infiltrator. Snake shepard, anyone? Cloak is satisfying, but not overpowered with the other abilities at your disposal.

I have toyed about with all the classes tho I have haven’t got up to level 20 with an engineer or sentinel.

My fav is a tossup between infiltrator and vanguard. They play very differently and it really just depends on my mood witch one I like better.

cloack would be so much fun if you could assassinate your enemys when you activate it, if BW is reading this, think about it, giving a special ability to every class would be a good idea for ME3 like assassination for lower enemys for infiltrators, more meele damage for vanguard, more running speed for adepts?...etc

In most games where you choose a class I prefer soldier class. So my original playthroughs of the games have been soldier with varying degrees of decisions and paragon/renegade. I finally decided to try something new recently and started a new game as an infiltrator. Love it. Miss the assault rifle but that is about it.

Then I went back to my soldier game to beat the DLC and I basically had the thought process "Armor piercing ammo, cyro ammo, disrupter ammo..... where the hell is incineration?!? Oh...wait... FFFFFFFFFFFFF"

So yeah I'd definitely agree that part of that is not trying other roles in the game. Still enjoy soldier but now I'm thinking I'm going to need to try them all

Mine has to be the Vanguard it was much more fun getting up close and personal than my Insanity run which I admit to using the Sentinel on.

Anyways I played all classes and all had their moments where I enjoyed using them.

I've played about with most classes, though my favourite is still the Infiltrator. Chose it in my first run purely because it seemed the most like the rogue characters I usually play, and stuck by it ever since. I like the Vanguard as well, but I miss the Widow/Assassination Cloak combo.

I've played all the classes. Unless I'm mistaken the poll you refer to, fmsantos39, showed clearly that the three combat classes (Soldier, Vanguard, Infiltrator) were all equally well liked, with like 30% of the vote each. It also showed that the other three classes were equally disliked with something like 3% of the vote each. This is in keeping with my own opinion. Powers in ME2 only do one thing to protected enemies, and that's damage the protection. This takes all the fun out of the non-combat classes, which IMO is why those three classes finished bottom of that poll.

I don't know about that. I enjoy Sentinel, they make the best tanks and are the only class other than soilder that is great at any range.

I'm a big fan of the infiltraitor especially from ME1. Too bad the sh*tty PS3 version is not going to let me enjoy the experience :(

I played Infiltrator, Adept and Engineer in Mass Effect 2. I liked the Adept the best, but tanking a Praetorian at point blank range as an Engineer felt awesome.

I've done at least one play through of each class in both games.

The only one I didn't finish was Adept, and that was because it really just was not fitting my style very well so I gave up.

My favorite classes so far have to be Infiltrator, Engineer and Sentinel. I think my Engineer and Sentinel are the top two, I really enjoy those two classes, but Infiltrator is really close.

I've tried different classes, I prefer engineer, currently playing vanguard, and it's currently turning out to be my least favorite.

I tried all the classes to see how they "feel" and after I had done that, I stuck with Vanguard in ME1 & ME2.
It just fits my style of playing games :)

This should be in the classes forum, but hey.

Anyway I used to play as Soldier, but I don't like the Soldier class in ME2 anymore. Instead, I play as a Vanguard and love it, much better than Soldier.

I strongly suspect that the reason the Soldier class is so high is because people new to the game will instantly go for it, as it's the least complicated class.

My first play of the game is always the default class and look. This is purely to get a feel for the look and mechanics of the game. By the end of Freedoms Progress, I had my eye in, and restarted as an Infiltrator. Chose this as I found I was rather good at snap headshots from behind cover.

Soldier was the last class I actually finished the game with. Ive played FPS games since Doom, so wasnt that interested in just another run-and-gun game.

I have tried all the classes, but I like the soldier, and I love the Revenant. I am a big gun kind of guy.

But I do choose Reave as my extra power, since ammo isnt widely available all the time.

Have done completionist runs in ME1 & 2 with every class on insanity (except ME2 engineer, but almost done). I can safely say my favorite class in both games is the Adept. The most powerful classes, imho, are the singularity vanguard (ME1) and the mattock/widow soldier (ME2).

I haven't tried adept or infiltrator, mean to do so.

Played through as vanguard, which was ok (my first playthrough, i was trying to play it like ME1), soldier (pretty fun).

Currently playing through the full game will all the DLC with a sentinel. It sucked at first, but now at lvl 20 it is far and away the most fun i've had. Took the mattock and I am virtually unstoppable. With heavy overload, unstable warp (and samara), and the tech armor its gg.

I have to say, on insanity its still challenging, though (in a good way). I have to think fast and be on top of my game, especially with the limits of the 360 controller. The combat is great, and all the classes seem powerful in the hands of skilled players.
