Do you think a first person view in Mass Effect would work?

Would you like it?

I think it would be an interesting addition to the series. Being able to choose between 1st and 3rd person view.

Like F3? I so want this, but the entire cover system would have to be removed to make it work.

No! No! No! No! No!

This is Mass Effect. Don't try and bring the cesspool that is Halo into Mass Effect.

Doesn't need it, and I'll be honest, I don't want it.

Besides, there's already "first person" perspective. Sniper rifle scopes.

Stop being ignorant and comparing games. It's still Mass Effect. Just because you don't like Halo doesn't mean every 1st person view is connected to it.

Not a big fan of FPS. Then again not a big fan of shooters in general. ME of course being an amazing exception. But FPS may get me annoyed while playing DX so I'll vote no

It should be optional. I would prefer first person in combat using the sights of the gun to aim instead of a silly un-immersive crosshair.

Crosshair is fake, but to use the sights of your gun to aim is far better and more immersive.

Im perfectly happy with 3rd person. 1st person could work, though......maybe. or not. idk.

It's a interesting idea but I don't think it will work well with the duck and cover system.

Remember......It would still be an option to choose between 3rd and 1st. If that was the case I see no reason why you wouldn't want it.

I'm not ignorant in comparing games. I'm making a correlation between different posts I've seen wanting stuff from Halo.

This post...first person perspective.

A post wanting more melee. If I unload an assault rifle at somebody's face (cause I play as a Soldier and use my squads biotics....other than the slam I have), why does a melee bring an enemy down immediately?

Lots of people wanting multiplayer and co-op.

Plus...

The "tilt" away from rpg to shooter in Mass Effect 2.

What are we going to have next? A call for energy swords?

I love this one guy's signature in here making fun of Halo. Demonstrative of how much it sucks!!!!

Protagonist: Cyborg super soldier....give me a banana and I will defeat the enemy.

Rank: Big Boss

Dialogue: Invasion aborted, sir.

Just how many first persons are there? Me and many others are fighting to ensure the franchise doesn't go away from what it is....a third person RPG.

A third person Role. Playing. Game.

Will you shooter fanboys never be satisfied? Is the current combat not enough? Has Bioware not dumbed down the game enough for you? Seriously? This is ridiculous. Go ruin another franchise.

No, thanks. I'd rather they put their time into the story and characters to close out the series.

Wow.....Fundamental Attribution Error......ever heard of it because you just defined it. Just because I suggest the question of "How would first person work" doesn't mean I'm a fan boy/girl.

Second of all if you are stupid enough to think 1st person ruins "A franchise" NONE THE LESS dumbs it down, then you are not even worthy of responding too.

Next time don't assume and if you think you are going to ..........move the hell on.

Lol, that's a tad strong isn't it?  LD's just talking about a camera angle toggle, like what was done in Oblivion - it's not that dramatic a change.  Although I get that duck and cover would only work in 3rd person.  p.s. a shooter fanboy wouldn't create their own rpg group on here ;)

Polite Assassin is read on correct. Exactly what he said. Now, people are entitled to an independent opinion, but there is a strong consensus among many that first person fanboys and fangirls are indeed trying to push it more that way.

First person is indeed dumbed down, in my opinion. It's so simple and boring. People who want first person in a sci fi game have plenty of other choices.

BioWare is going to hear my opinion loud and clear on this one.

I Respectfully decline...

I enjoy the cover system.
