Considering how well the TPS gameplay was polished in ME2, I'd rather they stick with that. FPS is well, fine, and good, but it really isn't necessary for Mass Effect except for sniper rifles.

People are getting all worked up like it's actually going to happen. Geez. This is the big ending, the final act. I can't see Bioware making a huge change like a point-of-view change, even if it's optional. You guys don't have to get so e-militant over a rhetorical situation. How many Bioware games have we seen that have been in First Person? C'mon.

Personally, I wouldn't be a fan of it. I can see how people would prefer it, what with the success of Call of Duty and Halo, but I'm just too used to Mass Effect being in the third person.

Not for me. It would change gameplay dramatically, as well as making it even closer to all the shooter clones on the market. And I don't know of any game that has both views which function equally well. It would almost be like making two different games.

Do you think a first person view in Mass Effect would work?

Would you like it?

I think it would be an interesting addition to the series. Being able to choose between 1st and 3rd person view.

I would be just awesome BUT ...not for THIS story of the mass effect universe.
I mean, for example, they could make a "Mass Effect: The First Contact war" as an FPS.

I so want this, but the entire cover system would have to be removed to make it work.

That's not entirley true. Killzone 2 has a fuctional first person cover mechanic.

PS: First Person ME is the worst idea ever. Image IPB

It's the 3rd person view and other elements that makes it unique among other games

No,as a fps

I dont see a point I see everything I need to. The Third person View gives me more peripheral Vision, and allows me to duck in cover.

I don't know if someone already post it, but R6 Vegas did a great job as a FPS game with cover system, so it's not impossible to have it in the game, although I can't see ME going FPS, it's just perfect as a 3rd person game.

No I wouldn't like it.  Would it work?  Maybe, but see nothing wrong with 3rd person.

First person view seems as desirable and appropriate for this game as turn-based combat...

Now Kotor styled shooter combat wouldn't be that bad. I actually would prefer that. classic.

And I would prefer... first person view and turn-based combat. Just doesn't seem appropriate. Kotor-styled combat as well. It's just too much of a change to introduce in a continuous series like this.

No thanks..... I've seen way to many ideas of people trying to turn ME into HALO. FPS, Energy Swords, improved Melee, storymode Co-op.

ME is about Shepard... 3rd person.... if after ME3 they decide to do an ElderScrolls style rpg where you can choose your own race, etc... and make it truely your character... fine 1st person works in that case.... Otherwise... if the only time I see Shepard is when I'm behind cover then Rick James is gonna choke a b****

The main reason I have not bought any of the Mass Effect games is because there is no 1st person option.
I buy a game a month and they are either all 1st person or have a 1st person option.

It would be nice for people like me if the developers decided to expand their target market and include the option.
If they don't, that's fine too. I'll continue to buy a 1st game game (not necesssarily a shooter) every month.
