Maybe I did not make my self clear. Cinematic movies are all about changing camera perspectives in situations. Meaning looking same situation from different camera angle, not just zooming in. It's like changing focus where the action is or the important moments to create visual impression. Sometimes impression is created by changing camera angle to something totally different.kaff33nd wrote...
So Modern Warfare isn't cinematic? Hmmm...
First person perspective is only persons eye perspective, there is no other perspective. Meaning you look direction of watcher and you can zoom, but you can't change the perpective. If You would change the camera view perspective in first person shooter, it whould not be anymore pure first person shooter.
In TPS you can change camera angles and still have the TPS. That's why TPS is alot better creating cinematic impressions. Because you can change camera angles without breaking the TPS status. You can't do that in FPS, because it's would feel like droping in scene, while TPS can do it alot smoother.

Will you shooter fanboys never be satisfied? Is the current combat not enough? Has Bioware not dumbed down the game enough for you? Seriously? This is ridiculous. Go ruin another franchise.

Beat me to it, Mass Effect is built upon third person. Removing it with the option to be in First Person would ruin or at least seriously burden the immersion of the game. Mass Effect reminds many of a movie for a reason.Lumikki wrote...

I'd only put on first-person during romance scenes so I could see my LI's o-face.

However, what I wouldn't mind is a few shots now and again in the cinematics where it switches to Shepard's first person perspective. Speaking personally, that would really add to the immersion and put me in Shepard's shoes.

Would I like it? No. I like ME the way it is. I wouldn't like it even if it were an option.

I wouldn't mind some first person perspective parts in the game. How about adding an optional zoom while using assault rifles, (using a scope similar to the sniper rifles) seeing as the assault rifles have scopes on them. I think it could really enhance the gameplay by adding some precision when using a weapon other than the sniper rifle.
I also wouldn't mind what bogsnot1 said, as long as it was integrated properly.
@ all the people saying they don't want Mass Effect to be a shooter: Wasn't it meant to be a third person shooter/ Role Playing Game hybrid in the first place? As in, wasn't that the intention of Bioware while making Mass Effect 1?
All in all, I really don't see the problem with adding a feature to the game, especially if it's optional.

no it wouldnt. You'd just go back into 3rd while covering. Simple and games do it already.......Googlesaurus wrote...
Like F3? I so want this, but the entire cover system would have to be removed to make it work.
But no. I HATE FPS. Im more of a TPS kind of guy if at all. I wouldnt play ME3 if they suddenly switched to FPS camera instead. I'd pull my preoder off so fast you'd need Stasis from Dead Space to watch it happen!
If ME3 has multiplayer like they announced a ME game having, then it has to be in TP view or it will never be played by me. I'll just play Uncharted 3 for it, ir UC2. Only game I resently liked in FP view was Mirrors Edge. That's it. Havent like anything in that view since Perfect Dark 1 on N64.

If you like TPS play TPS and if you like FPS play FPS.
The target is find a point of encounter and not be so intolerant.
