Bethany or Carver? Do you have to choose?

party members is your sibling (your brother or sister, depending on what
class you chose), and as you might expect, a whole lot of baggage comes
with them."
Sorry not sure if this has been answered yet or not in some other post, but I was wondering if we only get to have one sibling
around permanently or not? Is it possible to have them both stick with
you permanently?

But take it with a grain of salt.

There's a rumor that you can leave Aveline and her husband behind to keep both,
But take it with a grain of salt.
You have to take most of the rumors with a grain of salt unfortunately. I wish we could get some hint of confirmation.

Edit: SORRY. I thought it was a thread about who we would choose to survive. Haha, my bad.

It was revealed that one always dies. Bethany joins you if you're a warrior or rogue, and Carver joins you if you're a mage.
Where and when did Bioware release this?

And I HATE this. It should be because of choices my Hawke makes, not gameplay balance.andar91 wrote...

Carver FTW. Torture NOT included! I've been hearing rumors of being able to keep them both though.....
So have I but I really want some solid evidence not just fan speculation.

Well no, they were complete oppisites what i meant to say is thisDhiro wrote...
But Morinth and Samara wasn't the same. The looks, maybe, but not in personality, IMO.
mornith only had 2 conversations and wasn't really her own character once you recruited her. you really aren't going to get a hugley diffrent expiernce depnding on who you take i would think.
You may get a unique dialagoue here and there but there are your sibling first carver/bethany second.

Both of your siblings can survive (I think), if you look at the rise to power video you can clearly see Hawke running with Both his siblings, in what looks like the city of, Kirkwall.
There's a good chance that, that is because the opposing sibling has yet to die, and will do so in Kirkwall. But... here's hoping there's a way to do that without losing Aveline as a tank to Carver.

You'll get Bethany if Hawke is a rogue or warrior (regardless of gender), and Carver if Hawke is a mage.

The choice thing cemented me picking a mage on my first run. Usually I play a dual-wielding warrior, but I can't anymore...and being a mage seems extra special in DA2, so I pick that. Plus, I'm more interesting in having a brother than a sister.
You can't have a dual-wielding warrior? [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/andy.png[/smilie] My brother loves that archetype. So does that then mean you have to pick between sword and shield and a two-handed warrior? They both are too slow for me because I'm impatient.
