I like both. I think it is necessary for us to see that not all Reapers are the same. They have individuality and character, even if each one is a nation onto itself. And Harby shows us that even Reapers can have emotions - if obsession counts as an emotion. I'm looking forward to seeing different Reapers with various different personalities in ME3. Would be interesting.

So it's going to feel like I'm walking into a retirement home full of eccentric old people when I converse with the Reapers?

I hope so. Wouldn't that be awesome? I mean, it would be boring as hell if all the Reapers are exactly the same the way all Geth Troopers are the same, right? At the end of the day, the Reapers certainly are old as hell, and spending millenia in Dark Space would certainly make them eccentric...

He turned rogue one of the most prominent Spectres and the most powerful Asari Matriarch. Look who Harby has in command: a hoard of bugs who can't even eat or talk! I'm sorry Harby, I like you, but your sidekicks suck.

Yeah, but these "bugs" kinda did much more than the geth and Saren.

I don't think that counts as Harbinger's work alone. Collectors are engineered by the Reapers (in which Harby may or may not be involved), while the Geth are built by Quarians - it is clear which one should be more effective tools. And the Collectors were servants of the Reapers for millenia already, while Sovereign personally converted Saren and Benezia.

At the end of the saga though, I think Shepard (mine at least) will miss Harby more. At least Harby's hilarious...

Image IPB LOL! smell my armpit first! After the suicide mission in ME2 you can see him,a larger,odd-shaped Reaper right next to Harby heading toward the Milky Way galaxy with the Reapers fleet and yeah Leviathan is the main Reaper in ME3.

Wow I didn't know you worked with Bioware!

Can you give me all your links and secret sources on this "Leviathan"?

SOVEREIGN.HANDS.DOWN.

Seriously, Harbinger never even showed up in the game except as possessed collectors, and even then it was never clear that it was a reaper possessing the collectors until like 88% of the way through the game if you were smart, and about 98% if you weren't paying attention.

Not to mention that Sovereign talks and says badass things.

Harbinger talks and says extremely annoying things.

Sovereign/saren combo makes a tense level of foreboding doom and destruction leading up to a final showdown of epicness in ME1.

Harbinger through the collectors or whatever are pretty much a big side quest in ME2 and then at the end "OH LOOK! Its a Reaper, and its human! TADAAAA"

Anyone who doesn't realize the huge difference in arch-nemesis caliber when comparing sovereign/Saren to harbinger/"human reaper thing" needs to play ME1 again.

Harbinger never stood a chance - he refused to initiate a proper conversation with Shepard.

That's because he knew Shepard could just Paragonize him:
Harbinger: "Shepard, FACE YOUR ANNIHILATION"
Shepard: do you really think killing all of us is worth your time and effort?
Harbinger: oh yeah, well... you're right, it does not. Sorry, have to go.
OVER +9000 Paragon points.

Harbinger is smart enought to know that he CAN'T talk to Shepard. Therefore: Harbinger > Sob =P

Nazara was way better based off one game. To be fair though, I am sure Harbinger has a good chance at topping Sovie in ME3

I'm glad it wasn't just me - on my first playthrough, I wasn't paying too much attention to the subtitles (too busy gawping at the awesomeness) and I seriously thought the Collector-General was called Harbinger, and that he was in charge of all the Collectors' deeds. I only figured it out when Harbinger released control at the very end, because the Collector-General's eyes stopped glowing and then he looked all sad and confused at his impending death.

Felt really bad for him at that point.

Most for Sovereign, because we talked with him, we asked, he answered was dialogue. Harbinger only threatened, no relationship with him, we can say are not familiar with him, opposite Sovereign we knew.

I was left with the impression from ME2, that key moment in the narrative was not. In ME 1 for me the key point was a conversation with the Sovereign, the moment when I found something special.

currently I do agree but it depends on how harbinger appears in ME3 especially if it acts more aggressively than sovereign and looks more of a bad ass

When I think of Harbinger I think "that" Collector, not a Reaper. Sovereign had ALOT more presense as a character.

Harbinger.

Sovereign underestimated us, to his peril.

Harbinger very obviously has other plans in place.

"We will find another way.  Releasing control...."

Sovereign is more exciting as he was the first Reaper you meet. Harbinger had better one liners.

Sovereign 5000 percent hands down. Insanely appropriate voice-acting and effects. They couldn't have done any better with Sovereign.......*sigh*......ahh but Harbinger on the other hand.....personally I hated Harbinger.

His voice-acting was cringeworthy except at the VERY end when he explains to Shep that the humans are still doomed. That was kinda cool. Other than that WHY THE EFF ARE YOU EXPLAINING EVERY SINGLE ACTION YOU TAKE?!! ASSUMING THIS, ASSUMING THAT!! I KNOW YOU FEEL THIS!!! I DON'T CARE AND YOU DON'T SOUND COOL OR SCARY......those lines turned Harbinger into one big joke/meme wereas Sovereign is still taken somewhat seriously. Harby was just plain annoying....whew...guess this has been building up for a while lol.....

Sovereign I guess. Because he is dead and the only good reaper is a dead reaper.

Sovereign for one of my favorite lines in the series.

Sovereign, his dialogue had much more power to them in their authority rather then harbinger who only came close towards the latter 3 minutes of the game. Sure Sovereign died but that was because at that point the reapers were unaware at the time of the opposition facing them only realised after Sovereigns destruction when he very nearly won only to be stopped by Shepard at the narrowish of margins.

Harbinger on the other hand was rather... lack luster and that fact that you regularly fought him on some level if undirect while listening to the constant "I know you feel this" taunt took much away from his mystique and feeling that he was a metal cthulhu bent on purging all life in the galaxy but instead more like a pissed off 12 year old who just got his favorite toy broken.

diffenetly Harbinger, at the end of ME 2 you just blew up the collector base and killed a reaper lava and he acts as if its not even a set back. i dunno its just how confident he is that shep cant do a thing to stop him

I agree. Harbinger is smarter than Sovereign and seems like the guy to get the job done. However, I have to say that in the first mission of ME1, when I saw Sovereign going up, I felt chills. But then again, at the end of ME2, I felt that Harbinger was more of a bad ass.

lol sure he's smarter when he's a million light years away with a whole posse of other reapers backin' him up....Sovereign was alone and managed to nearly take back the citadel himself whch makes him more of a badass than Harbinger could ever be.  And of course Harbinger looks smarter, hindsight is 20/20.  Sovereign couldn't anticipate how much trouble us humans could be.
