Same here. I've always found it stupid that Saren would be hanging around Virmire twiddling his talons if he's already got everything he needed to find the Conduit. Wouldn't he be off raiding the Citadel with Sovereign? And like you once said in another thread the conversation with Saren on the Citadel implies that at least some time has pasted between the encounter on Virmire and that conversation. That's not possible if Virmire was done last.

My typical order is:



- Feros

- Liara

- Noveria

- Virmire



However, if you leave Liara's dig site until after Feros/Noveria, you get a pretty amusing dialogue easter egg. That was the way I did it the first time I played.

I'd just play it by ear and do whatever you feel is most important. Then just keep mixing them around on repeat play throughs. If you play again using the imported character you'll have enough charm/intimidate to do them in any order anyway.

I saved Virmire til the end for the first time (because I didn't wanna say goodbye to Ash </3 ), and it just didnt feel right. I liked having a bit more time to get over the sacrifice before confronting Saren again.

My preference is Therum, Feros, Noveria, Virmire.



I like getting my team first because I find Liara/Tali to be a great team and like to use them asap. I personally find Feros easier than Noveria and, simply in my opinion, it makes more sense for plot purposes. Occasionally, I have tried reversing Feros and Noveria, but I just don't like it. Virmire is always last for me. It feels more... for lack of a better word, endgame-ish.

Noveria, Feros, then Virmire I've done twice. Idek, it doesn't really make sense to me to go to Virmire first, cause it's like OMG THER R REPAERZ/biggest plot twist in the game. The other places sort of build up to the intensity of Virmire. If I did it beforehand I'd think the Thorian was BS and like I was wasting my time dealing with Benezia. And then of course it's less traumatizing with Kaiden and Ashley because you didn't get to hang out with them and the big plant.

When you think about it feros is extremely urgent so it makes sense to go there over virmire. My real reasoning is for some reason I feel the need to finish the first 3 planets before I start virmire.

I usually go Therum for Liara >Feros since it is urgent, they are under attack after all> Noveria > Virmire.
That’s just the order that makes the most sense for me. It seems odd to do Virmire before the others. The story flows better with Virmire last since thats when allot of the major plot points are revealed.

Never tried Virmire first. Not sure I'd like having lost two people in my first two missions. Methinks it wouldn't say much for Shepard's leadership.

If Feros is so urgent, why not do it before Noveria?

Noveria reminds me of playing Mass Effect years ago when it came out, pulling an all nighter. It's definitely my favourite locale in the game.

And I always laugh when I do Therum after Virmire, because Liara thinks i'm a hallucination

Therum -> Feros -> Noveria - > Virmire FTW.

I also like Noveria, especially the first part, in Port Hanshan. It feels very much like Taris back in KotOR (Citadel ~ Taris Upper City; Noveria ~ a bit classier Lower City).
