Pre-ordered a few weeks ago.

 I've purchased Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, the collector's edition of Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening. I pre-ordered ME2, DAO and Awakening on the days they became available. I've purchased almost every bit of DLC available for both games.

The problem is, my platform for PC games is Steam. I bought all of those games on Steam. If I buy a new PC game, I buy it through Steam. It's as much of a platform for me as the PS3 and the Xbox 360 are. It's the one and only service that's made the PC a coherent platform, with a friends list, messaging and voice chat that go across all games.

But apparently, EA and BioWare don't want me buying their games through Steam. So apparently, I'll no longer be buying their games.

That's a shame.

Here's hoping they all withdraw their heads from their posteriors before Mass Effect 3 comes out. That's $120 plus another $40-60 in DLC they would have gotten out of me between those two games.

I should have waited for that ultimate DA:O pack .. I would have saved 70.00$

Pre-ordered today, though I'm not fully convinced of the game yet. However reason for it was the massive price-drop for PC in an online shop (only 30 € anymore), so I ordered it nonetheless and hope it will surprise me positively like Origin has done it.

After my disappointment with Mass effect 2, I've said to myself "I'll NEVER EVER again pre-order a Bioware game, without seeing first some really good reviews" !!
Nevertheless, when DA2 pre-order was announced, I've preorder it immediately.
Weelll ....I had to [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/crying.png[/smilie].... could not control myself lol. (never say never hein!)

Won't be getting it because I prefer digital distribution, and last time I checked the EA store has a sunset clause on digital purchases made there--you can only download the game for up to one year from the date of purchase. After that you have to buy it again. That is completely unacceptable to me, so Steam will be getting my business because I can download it from them as many times as I need to whenever I need to, in case of hard drive failure or for any other reason which is frankly none of the publisher's business why I may want or need to reinstall.

I don't see it available on Steam yet and if it's never made available there, then I'll just pick up a hard copy at a local retailer.

My thoughts were similar. When the pre-order came around, I figured that I'm going to buy the game anyways, since BioWare has promised that the dialog system in Dragon Age 2 will be better than the one used in Mass Effect and The Old Republic. So I took the plunge.

The problem with that plan is that ME2 is one of the most highly rated games on the PC or 360.  Its almost certain to get loads of game-of-the-year awards.  

I think i'll order it on the PS3 and then buy it for cheap on the PC later when its on a steam sale.  

Edit:  I've just checked according to metacritic ME2 was the 8th highest rated PC of all time, two behind BG2.

pre-ordered through amazon. Sadly I won't be seeing my game until march 22nd apparently
