you guys made me really curious! i searched the internet to see some videos with him but nada...only a wiki page (which is very interesting i must say)
If you like, I can forward you the fanficcie I've read. It's written by a friend of mine and it's pretty true to the gameplot (except the Seer and Imloth romance bit...). So you can have some idea what he's like.

You do know he's in the expansion pack, not the OC, right?
Is this addressed to me? I do realize that, but the Diamond edition comes with all of the expansions.

Hey, David. Remember this poem?
Such a shame it didn't make the cut. I would love to hear Valen read this in game.
Merry Christmas.

Valen is amazing! I wish Hordes had been even longer so you could play with him some more. If there is anyone who still playes Baldur's Gate II and love Valen: there is a NPC mod with Valen but it's not completly done or it's in beta still. But it's still amazing and really well done - just in case you want Valen in BGII

I was a bit perplexed about Valen's romance... the romance itself (that starts at the end of act 2) is a sort of a quick run, so I was unable to create in my mind a decent image of his personality. I read many fan-fictions just to help myself in developing this image, but the entire process failed. :-( I am not able to imagine a 360° Valen... even if out there, I could find some interesting help :-D

Even if I would have a hard time falling for a... Valen, s'cuse me, I'm just very pleased girls don't mind expressing themselves on such an important matter, as we definitely do need those "chicks" to make our lives bearable. And vice-versa.
Being different, enemies, doesn't mean we can't be supportive and caring, even if we don't care about the same kind of subjects.
I don't like much about washing the dishes, I could help still. 'better than listening to my supposed friends their husbands doing sports, but on TV, next room anyway.
And even take the initiative and the soap at the same time.
Helping could be such a masculin word... The hero attitude.
Only my gender won't allow me to say it in bright daylight.
So I'd have to go around. Which I don't mind at all.
I'm not interested in Valen, I'm interested in people who are interested about anything. Uncluding what I'm not.
Like Valen, that's for sure.
I have two crucial questionnings about life.
The second one being about women.
Questions aren't meant to be answered.
Different from curiosity.
