So. I caved. Uninstalled NWN2 and BG2 to free up memory space, then orderd DA2 off Amazon.

I feel so sad. I chose Fenris over Bishop and Valen.

...I'm going to go cry for a minute.

In the meantime, I have an idea for a contest for the Valen Fanclub on dA, but I don't know what the prizes could be.

Oh, speaking of the Fenris prompts, I've been working on a new Fenris/Lady!Hawke one-shot (blame an overload of DA2 vids) involving jealousy, Anders, uncalled-for rudeness and scalding hot tomato soup. Interesting, yes? x3

-passes out fudge brownies- I have the best recipe for browies. They're awesome. Now, let us talk about Valen, as we are suppose to.


If Valen were in, say, Origins (in an Underdark-meets-Deep Roads situation?), how do you think he would get on with the other companions? (I see him and Sten bonding over scowls, and Zevran getting him drunk...for obvious reasons. xD)

I think mages would be interested in his parentage and Abyss, bugging him about it constantly. Because, well, quarter-demon. Bonding with Sten, yes, I agree, but I think he would get along with Alistair just fine, too. An intuition, there. No, not getting drunk by Zevran fault. Too careful, too distrusting, too immune. (In my head, demon blood makes Valen more resistant not only for tempereture, but for poisons and alchohol, too).
Others, hmm... I think he would be constantly arguing with Leliana over Maker (see his view on gods).

Morrigan would probably bug him about his tail ('Twas only a question-'; 'And my answer stays the same, I am not nor will I ever to that with my tail!'). I mean, she hits on STEN, for Gods' sake! I think he would have a soft-spot for Dog (BECAUSE EVERYONE LOVES DOG!!! >8D). And Leli would annoy the holy hells out of him ('By the Gods will you stop going on about shoes and ribbons for five minutes? GAH, this is more annoying then that blasted 'Doom Song!'). I don't think Alistair and he would get along at first, Alistair'd be fighting that nagging Templar urge to smite him (not that I'd complain, dohohoho). Wynne, I just get this idea that she'd scare him. I think it's because of the idea of Valen cowering to that lil' old lady is amusing. x3 erm...Oghren I think would amuse him ('How is it you survive each battle when you are constantly drunk?'; 'Practice, boy.'), Zevran he would be annoyed by too ('For the last time, I am not interested!'; 'It's because I am an elf, is it not? You wound me, ser; I assure you, the rumors of elven size are untrue!'). Sten and him'd be BFFs, strolling through the flowers, killing Darkspawn while being badass and stoic. (Sten: -glares, all stoicly and awesome- ; Valen: -glares back- ; Warden: What are they doing?; Alistair: I think...they're having a coversation through glares.)

Erin gaped at the three; they were sitting on a small bench together, Tashah in the middle and holding a large laptop in her...well, in her lap. Tashah's eyes were glazed over as she stared at the screen, rabidly clicking buttons and drooling slightly. DD was no better. Valen just looked abashed, and annoyed.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Erin repeated.
"Playing DA2." DD muttered, gazing longingly at the screen. "Oh, Fenny~"
Valen glared at DD, then at the computer screen (the latter with jealousy).
"Yeah, we just got it." Tashah began, but broke off as her and DD gasped in unison, then said, "ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen..."
In unison.
Valen continued to glower at the shiny elf on the screen that had the two enraptured.
"Oookaaay." Erin began to back away slowly, until a giant shriek rang out.
A shriek that belonged to Seer Tanky.

Everything went deathly quiet, then every person in the temple jumped up in at the same time and ran to the Seer's room, ready to protect her.

Ah, don't worry Valen, I'm not planning to get DA2 for a long time!

(And I mean a long time. I've got a lot of things that must come first, so I might have to wait until my birthday. Which is in November.)

A-ah, don't g-get me wrong, Fenris is quite a catch (brooding, angsty personality, glowing markings, push-up-againts-a-wall romance and all), but everybody knows that second tries on something aren't as good as original. He will never be as good as Valen was.

Besides, I am a devoted Valen-lover. No character cought me as he did. Period.
